Guest guest
My son who is 15 is afraid to take meds. This is partly because of the advertising on TV about the side effect " feelings of suicide " that accompany anti-depressants commercials. Has anyones kids actually experienced this feeling from the meds. My other concern (I am embarrassed posting this but I do not know where to turn) are the sexual side effects. I do not want my son to be having sex this soon in life but I also don't want him to experience things not working the way they should. His self-esteem is low enough with out sexual problems. Does anyone know about this? He has girls after him but because of his OCD he cannot handle a relationship. He is way too uncomfortable at this time. Although I think he really wants a girlfriend. Would meds dull his potential feelings of romance? I hope you guys can understand what I mean because I am lost on this issue. Its kind of like less OCD if on meds and maybe he can find a relationship but then at the same time being numb to the relationship. I guess this is just a small aspect of his life and the meds will help his life overall???Gosh knows? I also need feedback on meds. What has and has not worked for you. I thought about trying him on Celexa (if I can get him to take it). The reason being it seems to have the least side effects. Do you think Zoloft is better and how have you managed the side effects. Gotta go!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Kathy
