Guest guest
Kim I talked with my daughter's psychologist right after seeing the psychiatrist. She said it is used for bi-polar. She also said it would make th ups(really hyper times) lower and the lows(meltdowns not as low). When she said that about the bi-polar I said, " Oh, that's something that has come up with her before. " Dd has NOT been diagnosed with bi-polar, however, it has been mentioned as a possibility several times. One thing about if she does end up being bi-polar is that I've heard some of the treatment for OCD makes bi- polar worse. The zoloft I think. Her skin picking does come out of high anxiety. Church, during the worship in the auditorium, very crowded. We have to sit on the same pew every week and if anyone sits on that row with us, we have meltdown. Last week she drew pictures and someone else sat with us and she reamined calm. Week before she started loudly, during the middle of communion saying, " Make them LEAVE! THis is our seat!!! " REpeatedly, she refused to leave to go to the fowyer and carried on for 20 min. Lots of skin picking. Other times she doesn't seem anxious, but, she says it happens at school when she's bored, but, school is a whole lot of anxiety for her due to the lack of friends and bullying we've been fighting for years. I just don't know, but, my gut says her current behavior doesn't warrent another medication. I'd like a second opinion, but, there are very few child psyciatrist in town and most don't take new patients. I was gonna take her in about 2 years ago to a new doctor, but, I would have to have transfered everything over to him, then if I didn't like him, what then????So, I cancelled the appointment. Anyway, I'm at a loss. Darletta -- In , mnmomof1@... wrote: > > Hi Darletta. It is a tough call if it is from the meds. My dd takes 5 meds > and no longer skin picks.
