Guest guest
What do you mean by pre-hydrated? the instructions for brown clay are to leave it overnight in water for 12 hours and then drink the water and the clay slowly. For the first week you drink only the water and thereafter you drink the water with the clay. > I use anywhere from 2 to 4 Tablespoons of pre-hydrated clay,I just wanted to stress that the clay really does need to bepre-hydrated. Guest guest
Many thanks, Tans....this email will go into the permanent file. The MMS1 keeps things moving a little too well, so hopefully this concoction will not be a problem, nonetheless, I will start slowly. judi From: Tanstaafl <tanstaafl@...> Sent: Thu, February 11, 2010 3:43:28 PMSubject: [ ] Clay / Charcoal slurries... Lainey had also asked, and I started areply but then saved it in my drafts and almost forgot about it, sothanks for the nudge...Luckily its actually very straightforward, and the ingredients arerelatively inexpensive. ..The main caveat is to be aware of any constipation, because both arebulking agents and can make constipation worse if not enough water istaken, or too much of either or both are taken over too short a periodof time. Also - and please take this seriously - if your bowels are not workingreasonably well already, you really, really need to get them workingwell before starting a serious clay/charcoal protocol. What you will be looking for is activated charcoal, pure bentonite clay(best form for general detox), and a quality apple pectin. There really is no 'correct' ratio as far as I know, I just made mine upmyself, but...I use anywhere from 2 to 4 Tablespoons of pre-hydrated clay, one heapingTablespoon of activated charcoal, and one heaping teaspoon of pure applepectin, mixed in with 8-10 oz of pure water, and drink it down in abouta 5 minute period. I'll generally follow it up with another glass ofwater over the next half hour. For the activated charcoal, I used to use plain charcoal from willowbark, but I now buy two different kinds - from coconut shells, and frombamboo - and mix them 50/50, and then use that for my slurries:Charcoal:http://www.buyactiv atedcharcoal. com/bulkThe best site I know of for learning all about clays and how/why theyare so beneficial - and some sources for ordering it - is:www.eytonsearth. orgAnd here is where I buy my clay:http://www.greencla ys.com/clay- supplements. phpLast, for the Apple Pectin:http://tiny. pl/hxcld(The only place I've been able to find organic apple pectin is ebay...)Just adjust the ratios/amounts as desired. If I'm doing a serious cleanse, I'll drink 4-6 of these a day, one everytwo hours, and a chomper/herbal nutrition (from the Arise-N-Shine folks)slurry in between. If you are taking a lot of these it is very important to listen to yourbody and drink plenty of extra water if you feel the slightest bitconstipated. Some people get constipated real quick with clay when theyfirst start cleansing and quit because of it, but what they should do issimply slow down, be sure to drink a lot of extra water, and slowlyincrease the amount of clay until their gut is cleaned out - the sameway you slow down with MMS if you start feeling nasty...If you have any issues with constipation, I also strongly urge you tokeep some homozon on hand, as taking it will relieve the constipation ina hurry if you get too uncomfortable. The goal, of course is to:1. Keep the bowels moving, and2. Keep them semi-solid (not watery, but not too solid either)...Again, you'll have to adjust dosages yourself according to your ownsituation/needs.Hope this helps...
