Thanks for the advice, you're right, I don't do those types of things

enough. I don't know if I EVER have. From today on I will make a conscious

effort to change my way of doing and thinking about things. I also need to

stop letting negative things bring me down. Ya know, Destiny's Child has a

song called " Survivor " that pretty much hypnotizes me everytime I hear it. I

find the words in that song so powerful and I am making that song my personal

anthem. Thank you for not telling me to just snap out of it. All in due

time.... all in due time. :)

Jenni

who would like to inform everyone that they will be playing my new anthem as

a preview to Thursday's Survivor while playing clips from the show!

Jenni,

I'll share with you what has helped me become stronger inside and more

confident in myself. I started making myself think of two positive things a

day about me or things I had done and say them out loud, verbally out loud

so I could hear them. At first I couldn't think of anything " good " , but

suddenly I got to thinking of more and more things and I realized wow I am a

good person with a lot to offer, and I may be a bit goofy at times <G>, but

I know that I'm basically pretty darn good inside and that helps me be good

outside too.

I hope this helps some!

,

I am sorry I am so late in replying to this message...I am slowly

trying to catch up with all the messages I've missed since the

marathon :)

I just wanted to say that we all struggle with this negativity that

wants to creep in and tell us to quit! So, please know that you

aren't alone! I wish there was something that I could say to make

everything better for you..to assure you that you will get to a point

where the negative thoughts will cease, but unfortunately I can't!

What I can tell you is that with time....you slowly learn to be a bit

kinder to yourself....you get to a point where the good thoughts

mostly outweigh the bad thoughts and you are proud of who you are and

what you are doing :) I am so proud of you for stopping to pause the

tape, for crying it out and for pushing play and finishing your

workout! As long as you don't quit and give up...the negativity can't

win :) When you feel youself starting to think negatively about your

body...shift the thinking to all the other great results you have

felt (the non-physical ones) like feeling stronger, having more

confidence, having more energy and the fact that you are doing

something POSITIVE for your over-all health and well-being! Hang in

there! You are certainly not alone in your feelings and we are here

for you whenever you need some extra support :)

Temera,

Good luck with WW! I think it's smart to set smaller goals for

yourself..that way you won't get discouraged by the 'big picture'!

Make sure that you celebrate each and every milestone that you

accomplish :) And if you find yourself starting to focus TOO much on

the weight...don't be afraid to get on the scale facing backwards or

look the other way when they weigh you! There's nothing that says you

have to look EVERY time :) I know you can do this! I can't wait to

hear how it goes for you!

really starting my exercise program that I will gain weight. Gosh I

hope not. I can't afford new clothes. Do you have any tips to help

ease the withdrawal symptoms....I am gonna need all the help that I

can get but am actually excited that i will soon be smoke free :)

,

I don't have any real words of advice since I have never smoked, but

I just wanted to say Good luck! Take it one day at a time! You can

do it :)

Jenni,

I just wanted to let you know that I can totally relate to what you

are talking about! I'm one of those people who carries extra

weight " well " ...whatever that means..LOL! But, when I am 20 or 30

lbs overweight, I might not necessarily 'look' overweight to other

people, but I sure do feel it! You might be the same way and people

just might not think that you have that much to lose (not that I'm

excusing their behavior by any means)! The fact is that we all

(well, most of us) struggle or have struggled with our weight at some

point in time! And the struggle is no less for someone who has 10 lbs

or 30 lbs or 100 lbs to lose and it's no less for someone who might

look like they only need to lose 10 lbs, but in reality need to lose

30! It's a struggle either way :) It's frustrating when you try to

voice your concern or your fear or your insecurity about your weight

and people don't take you seriously! I used to face the same thing

when I would gain/lose the same 20-30 lbs every couple of months!

Anyway, I don't really have any wonderful words of wisdom, but I just

wanted you to know that you weren't alone in your feelings! And to

let you know that we are here for you whenever you need someone to

lean on or vent to :) I promise, we will alway take you seriously :)

I wish now that I listened to that kind of music. But Garth has some

pretty motivational songs. And Lorrie : I didn't know my own

strength. Has nothing to do with anything except a breakup, but I

guess it is how we interpret the words. I have to get the single on

that song. thanks for sharing it with this old country

bumpkin....however a hillbilly, but very proud that I am.

They had a thing in the paper today about that...now

I'll have to go back and read it.
