Guest guest
Thanks Tom, Yesterday I decided to give just regular water and her sleeping/resting patterns seemed more " normal " . As I think things through I do believe I have seen an energy increase but occurring at the same time as the extreme tiredness. Two mornings ago on the walk through the woods I had to move pretty fast to keep up with her (normal these days would be walk stop sniff) I wrote it off thinking she was motivated by the scent of a deer that we flushed out. Then yesterday morning once she was steady on her feet, we went walking and she zoomed right along (ended up having to take off my shirt to use as a leash so that I wouldnt loose her :- 0 ) . So needless to say its been interesting. Also what I noticed is that with the MMS water this dog drank less than she normally would, and the other dog seemed to be drinking more than he normally does. And then yesterday and today with the regular water in place they seem to be back to their normal drinking patterns. Not that I monitor this stuff but I guess when there is a shift from the norm my eye catches it. And that is what you did mention ~ the animal will drink the amount that they need ~ very interesting! I am out of town for a few days and once I return am going to start back with the 11 PPM water. But I was wondering what occurs at this concentration? Do you feel progress in the dog can still be made at this concentration? Also wondering if oxidative damage still a possibility at this concentration, and what I would need to look for? Does the final destination concentration of 6 PPM do anything healthwise other than keep the biofilm out of the water dish? Thanks once again, Anne
Guest guest
Hello Anne, Even more interesting... However, this is more in line with what we have experienced. The 11 PPM solution is slow and steady. We stumbled upon this because we had some dogs that " trashed " their water dish and the 6 PPM solution wasn't strong enough to keep the biofilm out of the dish. Someone (in this case it wasn't me) had the brilliant idea to double the concentration of available chlorine dioxide and so we tried that. This water bucket was shared among several dogs and the oldest dog slept a lot and didn't drink much water. After a couple of months we noticed that the oldest dog was spending a lot of time playing with the younger dogs. Thinking this was rather remarkable, we then backtracked to figure out what we had done. At these lower concentrations, a diet rich in anti oxidants should be able to take care of the free radicals and any oxidative stress. At least this is what the Vets I have discussed this with tell me. The longest data I have on this is just over a year and a half and the dogs are doing fine. While this is not conclusive, I view it as a very strong starting point. The 6 PPM solution is pretty much used up by evaporation, UV light, and biofilm.
