A. MB12 / Methyl - Mate dosage vs. compounded version

MB 12 >Methyl-Mate is found at http://www.nbnus.net/shopexd.asp?id=338

is sublingual but -----You can also request to have

them send you a spray applicator...to use it as a spray.

There is a spot in the order form for requests.

Note: a measured "spray" is about 500 mcgs..of Methyl -Mate ---

And a "spray" my compounded formula measured spray is 1250 mcgs.. of MB12.

Therefore we would need to use 2- 1/2 times (squirts) as much

Methyl- Mate as my compounded formula to achieve the same dosage,

( Verified by our pharmacist and New Beginnings).

Also... Methyl - Mate is Methycolbalamin ..whereas my

compounded version ALSO has 300 mcg's of Folinic acid ,too.

For some folinic acid may cause hyperactivity so in that case

you can use Methyl - Mate and add Folapro (SP)? later..as tolerated.

Maybe someone can help with that spelling?

Compounded versions have NO PRESERVATIVES.. but METHYL- MATE Does.

Sometimes that can be an advantage IF your child is not reactive to the preservative.

For example it has a longer shelf life and does NOT have to be refrigerated..

MY compounded version does NEED refrigeration AND it's only filled 1/3rd full.

So it turns out--even while needing 2 1/2 times the amt ..to get equivalency..to my prescription..

I end up using the bottles about the same time.

We get Methyl- mate for vacations since it doesn't need to be cold.. and sometimes

my husband gets an irritated throat from the spray.. so then he uses sublingual for a short time.

MB12 nasal spray

I was reading Stan's website.He said MB12 spray is by prescription. But I think I read that it can be made from nasal spray bottle and sublingual MB12. Has anyone done it? Is there any important reason it has to be by prescription?Elen Morelle: Hi, were new & we're starting the mb12 nasal spray
