When

citric acid is used to activate sodium chlorite, the most complete activation

time is 10 minutes. You can observe a color change almost immediately, but the

reaction does not complete immediately. When you cut the activation time low

you end up with impurities of chlorite and chlorate in the chlorous acid.

In industrial use, an objective is to keep the impurities

as low as possible, and to have the solution prepared in a way that gets the

maximum potential from the chemicals. I would think that someone who is

ingesting these chemicals would share similar interests.

To summarize:

When using 10% citric acid the ratio is 1:1.

When using 50% citric acid the ratio is 5:1, 5 parts

sodium chlorite to 1 part citric acid.

When using citric acid powder the ratio is 10:1, 10 parts

sodium chlorite to 1 part citric acid.

When using citric acid to activate, the most efficient

activation time is 10 minutes.

Thank you again Tom.

10 mins! I had somehow seen 1 minute. Will try the 10 minutes now.

Obviously the Bb bacteria is still creating enough neurotoxins to trip up what I

am reading. Glad you put activation time in Subject. It will make it easier to

find for others or if I should have a lapse again!
