I keep reading about some of you who order your ADEK'S through a

pharmacy??? I always thought we had to get them from food sources. My

calcium calcimate has vit D in it, the way I understand it the vit D

helps our body absorb the calcium. I thought I was getting everything

I needed by just taking my calcium and my vitamins. My 6 mos lab's

came back fine, just a little low in protein but nothing to worry

about. Am I suppose to be doing something more than what I'm aware of?

Melody,

Please remember that you are only 6 mos out and some of us are more

than 6 years out.

I personally have to add ADEKs to my own vitamin regime because - even

tho I was eating right, taking my vitamins correctly, I was still low

in these areas, and that didnt show up until my 4 year labs. Dr K

said take ADEKs and I take them. I order mine thru the pharmacy I

work at, you can order them thru Cosco and Walmart and other pharmacies.

You shouldnt be low on anything at 6 months out. You should still

have some reserve left. That being said, do keep taking your

vitamins etc as you have until Dr K says otherwise. Dont be surprised

if and when you have to tweek it further down the road.

Oh, and work at keeping your protein up. It is easier at your stage

of the game to keep it up, than trying to play catch up later.

who is 6 1/2 years out now....

Thank you Sharon, I still feel like a newbie with some of the topics,

I am excited about the day when I can say I'm 2ys out or 5yrs

out...etc. but even more so I'm excited about Sept. 5th 2008 when I

can celebrate my 1st yr anniversary :-) I do have a question

though??? my pcp has been doing blood work to check my anemia, she

says it's not caused by low iron but that the labs indicate it might

be a vitamin defficiency?? the past couple months it seems to be

getting worse...I don't understand how I can have a deffinciency when

I take all my vitamins and my 6mos labs were ok??? does anyone have

any helpful answers or knowledge of what it could be? thanks again

for all the help and support, I really like this group!
