What is meant by trimming messages is.......when you reply to someone's post you

eliminate their message and just post your reply. You could leave a couple of

sentances that pertain to your answer or comment. The problem with not trimming

messages is that you can have tons of posts on one email and those who get all

of the posts in a daily digest get this huge file. Also then people have to

weed through all of the previous posts and comments.

Dearest Kristan,

You did a great job trimming your message! Thanks. How to Trim is in

the FILES on the left menu, in the " Candida Group Information " Folder,

just after the " Candida Diet " Folder.

Cheers, Bee

Please Trim Your Messages

It is important that you trim your messages prior to sending them,

for two important reasons:

1. Some people receive digests via email and it can become quite a

chore to scroll through lengthy posts, trying to find where one

message ends and the next one begins.

2. Trimming messages saves on our Group's archival space.

When you reply to a message you have the option of editing the

previous message(s) however you see fit. The process is quite

simple, and most people seem to go about it in one of two ways:

1. After hitting the 'Reply' button you can highlight and delete all

of the text from the message you are responding to, other than quotes

that are necessary to your own message for the sake of clarity, OR

2. You can use the 'Reply' button twice to open up two different

reply messages. In the second message you can select and delete

everything. Then, in the first message, highlight only the quote that

you want to include from the first reply message, and copy and paste

it into the second reply message, which becomes the *only* one that

you send.

So, let's all try to remember to trim our posts completely (including

all of the signature information at the bottom).

TIA,

Bee Wilder

Hi ,

I didn't know anything about how to use a computer and not a lot more

about Kombucha back then, but I knew I wanted to learn about both.

To trim a post you need to decide what in the post that you are

responding to is important enough that you should send it with your

reply so that your reply makes sense enough to put it in context.

Peace, Love and Harmony,

Bev

Hey Bev,

You were the one!! I tried thanks to Good ole funny , and Beth wrote to me

too. I played and played. Finally with your e-mail " By Goerge I think I've

got it !!!! "

I really put myself out there. I mean who does not know how to work a computer

these days. My experence with KT is sure teaching me how to streach and grow in

so many ways. Thanks for patients!!!!

Hi Tiff and EveryOne,

The first one to help me with computer stuff was Collen the list

owner of the Kombucha Mailing list.

Only right then, that I should pass on the tradition:-))

It is far better to ask when you don't know, than to think you know

when what you know is incorrect. May we all be willing to learn and

grow together.

Peace, Love and Harmony,

Bev

Morning

Kristy,

Getting

members to trim messages can be like trying to stop a freight train in full

speed J the

forum I have it took months and constant monitoring which is something I don’t

think the moderators have time for here. Another solution that might work

for you is to have a gmail account (or one of your choosing) dedicated to one

specific forum. I have several gmail accounts just for that purpose.

Now I have a nice data base of post, can star the post that have pertinent info

for my uses and discard the rest. I tried digest on several forums and

never could make heads or tails of all the trailing post so found a work

around.

I sympathize, but good luck getting anyone to cooperate. I've found that

you are usually attacked for just asking. Hope you get a better response

here...

Yes,

Just because digest is available doesn't mean it's the best choice.
