Guest guest
Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new physiatrist. She had me check in with her today and we decided that I am now ready to try sitting up for periods of time (ex. 1 1/2 hours) alternating with rest (ex. 1/2 hour). For the past week I have been flat on my back and just this morning (probably because I was scared to death of going back to work tomorrow) I sat up for a couple of hours and survived! Baby steps, baby steps. Wed. or Thurs. we'll talk again about the next step. If I feel even better, I'll ask if it's OK to go back to work part time. I'm still heavily medicated thank God. The best part is that this doctor's advice is so sensible. No threats that: " I will always be in pain, " or " I will never exercise or stretch again, " ... . Plus, she her options are a lot more varied and palatable than the other doctor's recommended " painful shots of glucose in my joints. " I hope very soon that I can stop writing OT posts about my back, LOL, and will be able to talk about EXERCISE and YOGA , ... . But for now, thanks for listening to my long, slow road to recovery.
