Guest guest
, don't get discouraged! You are doing fine and should be proud of yourself for taking care of your future this way. Your experience is almost exactly what happened to me and I am not a revision, so don't sweat it! Marta 268-
Guest guest
, doc does not want you to lose fast anyway. Besides 16.5 pounds may not sound like much, but think back and ask your yourself when was the last time you lost that much in a month? You are doing just fine. Be happy with any loss. You will get there, just relax, do what you are supposed to and it will happen. As long as you do what you are supposed to do, mainly sip and walk, it will happen. Trust the doc. He has done to a lot of us. We have all had our moments of wanting to be Twiggy overnight, but we didn't get to be Beulah the whale overnight either, so just smile honey. You are going to be so beautiful. Pearl **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides. Guest guest
-- the scale is your worst enemy. It was my worst enemy as those old timers on this list will tell you. I weighed myself sometimes 20 times a day, and my day reflected the numbers -- depressed or elated. You may have lost only .5 pounds during that period, but other, more important things happened in your body. Always ask for a copy of the scale print out. Look at the numbers that changed. you'll find those numbers change more than the poundage, most times. Sixteen pounds in two weeks is nothing to sneeze at! you're right on target. I believe we were told to expect to lose 10-pounds per MONTH. Don't worry about the pounds, they will take care of themselves and you'll be happier, and wake up one morning 150 pounds lighter. Guest guest
Beulah the whale - that is kinda cute. - Don't worry, you are doing great. Since we are revisions we will lose slower than we did with our previous surgeries. I was in the hospital 8 days NPO - came out, went to the hotel gym anticipating weighing myself - weighed exactly the same thing I weighed on surgery day. I am 7.5 weeks out of surgery and have lost 33 lbs.- I have been measuring my weight against my weight diary from my RNY and at 7 weeks out after my RNY I was down 42 lbs. So, like me, you are expecting to keep pace with the original surgery. I, too, still have my feeding tube in. It is almost like a new body limb - instead of putting two legs into my jeans, I have an extra appendage to squeeze in there. It comes in handy when I can't imagine stomaching another protein shake! Just pop it through the tube, although I do look forward to seeing it gone. Due to a stomach stricture 2 weeks ago that Dr. K had to scope and open with a balloon, I will keep it a little longer. I walk twice every day - once in the morning, once in the evening and eat healthy. My weight has hit a plateau; however, I know I am doing the right things as I am sure you are too. We have to be a little more patient this time around. Debbie **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides. Guest guest
Doc has told us numerous times to throw the scale away. It will only frustrate you. He says to concentrate instead on how you feel. You should not be concentrating on a number, but on how you are getting healthier and feeling better day by day. I know that as early out as you are you don't see as much as you will as little farther along. You are just being too hard on yourself. Go slow, eat right, walk, and throw that *( & % & # scale away. It serves no purpose, except to frustrate you. Now seriously, what does that scale do for you? Nothing. When you see Doc is enough, especially early on. Even later on. Come to the meetings and weigh then. That is enough. Feel your clothes get loose, feel yourself be able to breathe. Those are the things that count, not the numbers. I have lost 170 pounds over a three year period. It took me three years to do a pound and a half to two pounds a month. But it is gone. I would never have believed it. I am in clothes that if I couldn't see the size I wouldn't believe I was wearing them. I still find myself going to the plus size and then remind myself to scoot over. A lifelong habit. I am almost 69, so I have a long time to have had that habit. Please, don't let that scale describe you, or this surgery.. If you do what you are supposed to, it will work. Just go slow. That is best. Then you won't yo-yo. Pearl **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides.
