Hi Barb. Gosh, honestly, I am not sure if Spring is worse. Her bipolar has

been hard to keep under control for more than a few months at a time so far, so

it almost seems like there aren't a lot of really good stable months. Her

last med change was in April. The cycling is under control, but the she seems

to be getting stuck more with the OCD at this point. School has been a tough

thing. It is hard this year to watch her friends get wonderful college

acceptances and some scholarships, knowing she was among the top of the class

just

18 months ago. And now she isn't even graduating with them. Well, hopefully

things will improve for all our kids soon. Take Care, Kim

in some ways and worse in others this spring. Just always looking

for clues...

Hope you are able to find some solutions. The OCD issues that come

up around school make it so difficult for everyone. Our son could

not write a test the other day, still don't know why, he can't say,

probably doesn't really know. No logic there anyway.

Hugs!

Barb

Hi Kim,

It is tough to watch our kids lose this. Mine will be 17 and still in

grade 9. Kind of have to make a new plan, or no plan and just go

with it. It penetrates at times like graduation, and as their

friends move on. I have mostly let this one go. I'll be happy if

ours is in school next year, first have to find one that he can go

to....

Hugs!

My dd OCD is always worse in the Spring. This is when she was first

hospitalized and diagnosed. She is presently not going to school. On

top of that her twin sister is graduating this year. I knew this year

was going to be tough on us but on top of having Jess graduate and

seeing not graduating with her we have to go through her not

going to school. She has already missed three weeks of school due to

anxiety. The principal said he did not want her in school before she

got better. We have to deal with this xxxxx. He has given us so much

problems since grade 9. He does not have any understanding of mental

illness. The teachers are great and the rest of the staff but he is a

major problem. I believe he thinks people with mental problems should

not be in school. is a bright kid and she made 98% in

Chemistry and 80% and up in most of her classes but has a 56% in

French. He always points out her French. Because of OCD it is a lot

harder for languages and she does not have any special help. I don't

know how I am going to pull through in June the graduation is June

21st. I have to be real strong for and be happy for her. She

should be my main focus right now. But is getting all the

attention. I have also and older daughter that is going to University

and had decided to drop her psychology course and go to college in

top of all this. Lots of fun! I am going nuts!

? Barb?

Whichever...my son's OCD is tougher in the spring too

and I wonder if it's the added stress of school finals

and such. As awful as that principal is, I bet you'll

be thrilled when does get out of there.

You're so right to try to focus on her twin sister

right now, and remember...it's not your daughter you

are ignoring, it is her OCD. She can get attention for

everything or anything else.

Good luck with it, and congrats on 's

graduation!
