Guest guest
Dear Group Received test results for my son and looking for recommendations from the group on how to proceed. My son is 2 ½ years old and his stool sample showed having alpha and gamma streptococcus 4+ 3+, enterobacter 4+, clostridia 4+, and rhodotorula yeast. We¢ve started giving my son nizoral (2.5 ml twice a day=100mg). Our present doctor (not a DAN doctor, on waiting list) is not familiar with nizoral. The doctor recommends stop giving the nizoral, prescribed flagyl for 2 weeks, giving nothing for the next week, then start giving diflucan. The problem with the diflucan is the tests showed rhodotorula is resistance to diflucan. Has anyone gone through this with their child and have a protocol that was worked? One person in the group recommended following brainchild nutritionals for the yeast. Did anyone start on nizoral and then use natural antifungals (how long to take nizoral)? Should we have our son on the nizoral and flagyl at the same time? How about using natural on the bacteria after the flagyl? Also, my son tested positive for the measles IgG AB (rubella) and scored 355 on the immuglobin G. Does anyone know what this means? Do we require further tests (what tests) or does this show we should start the antiviral and use the valtrex. If we start the valtrex, when should we start it (start with nizoral or wait), what dosage, how long? Really appreciate any feedback or shared experiences. Thank you so much and god bless. Guest guest
I can't speak to all of your issues, but my son had the streptococcus too and my DAN wanted my son on the VSL#3 probiotic to get rid of it. It is grown in a milk base, but not considered a "dairy" type product. My son only has strong gluten sensitivity, he no longer has the casein issues. Extremely sensitive casein kids the VSL may bother, others, not so much. It is a stout probiotic and may help some with your other issues as well Becky Subject: Yeast, bacteria, & viralTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Thursday, September 18, 2008, 11:37 AM Dear Group Received test results for my son and looking for recommendations from the group on how to proceed. Guest guest
For yeast, I would start with grapefruit seed extract and ask for a script for diflucan. You can also go on a low yeast diet. For the gamma srep you can try the nutrimedix products like samento, cumanda and quina. You can also use olive leaf extract. My sons strep level have come down with chelation. We do weekly IV chelation and the strep levels have come down with the release of aluminum. You may want to check VIA blood for the actual strep titer (ASO titer) and his DNASE B level. You can also look into IVIG which works well for strep but is expensive and not often covered by insurance.
