Guest guest
Hi I was wondering if anyone knew of any resources to help with dysgraphia. We have an aptment with an OT but not for 6 weeks! My son struggles soo much with writing anything. It literally takes him about 10 minutes to write 2 sentences. He also cant spell while he is writing? It seems like all his focus and effort goes to putting it down on paper and remembering how to spell " the " is more effort than he can do at the time? He is 11 and so far behind. When he was in public school though they never worked with him at all. He holds his pencil wrong and the OT told him " whatever " it doesnt make a difference. Now his hand is so tired and I cant get him to switch his grip because he is used to it. His letter " float " he mixes capitals and lower case letters and he hates cursive. He cant write it unless he physically sees the letter and traces it first. I would appreciate any help! He also has some " mild " dysgraphia. I hear " which way does the D face? " daily. The thing is he can read well and read his letter correctly, its only when he has to write them that he gets letters and numbers backwards and sometimes upside down. He used to do an upside down backwards e. I had a hard time trying to do it Allie
