I don't really expect any answers, but you never know...

My 11 yo son has been on a " vacation " from ER/P for a few months now since he

left a daily

intensive treatment program. He seemed to be holding his own with a weekly visit

to a psychologist who is doing...

well, I'm not sure, but my son sure loves him. I think he's trying to build his

confidence. Anyway, my son

is expressing how hard it is for him to be in class. His main problem is sitting

at the desks he knows others who were wearing buttons

have sat in before him. For you newbies, he has an obsessive fear of buttons. We

have no idea why.

He said that in his first class today he kept getting up and pretending to get

something out of his backpack just to avoid

sitting at the desk.

He says the problem has been there for a long time, but it sounds like he's more

distressed than before.

We'll talk to the psychologist tomorrow a.m. when we see him, but wondered if

anyone had similar experiences

or suggestions, since so many kids have some kind of contamination OCD. I have

that sinking feeling that we're headed for

my son not being able to go to school all day.

Thanks,
