Guest guest
Hi Donna, You asked about my experiences with ginseng (I don't want to try and find the post)--I've only used Siberian ginseng. I've tried ashwaghanda ( " Indian " ginseng) but didn't find it stimulating at all--I think it's supposed to be sedative). I've had some good experiences with the Siberian variety. Some years ago it gave me the stamina to be a regular exerciser. Another time I had gotten too wild about trying to kill off candida and ended up wasting myself out. I got a heavy herx and had way too much histamine released. I was violently sneezing. I'm not exactly certain whether what ensued was more adrenal exhaustion or whether my thyroid or neurotransmitters were involved as well. At any rate, I managed to build myself back up again with the ginseng. Just recently I got a good batch of ginseng from Rexall/Sundown at Walmart for $4. I had another cheap brand that just didn't seem to be working right. I would really be fascinated to have both analyzed. I may inquire to one of the two companies about the possibility. Korean ginseng is a high source of something but I forget what--might be germanium. I will have to try that sometime. I am not sure at present how American ginseng differs from the other two. J.
