Guest guest
OK, I did not take organic chemistry. From my reading, they are similar, but not the same in chemistry. DMSO is DIMETHYLSULFOXIDE... Are the two Methyl bonds attached to the sulfonyl the same as expressed in Methyl sulfonyl methane another another way of saying Di Methyl and is a Sulfonyl actually an Oxide? What I do understand is that we generally need organic sulfides in our diet or we get terrible joint problems. Here is the reason I believe it such a benefit with lyme disease. Since the spirochete turns cystis, there are also some studies showing MSM will break down the bio-film that protects stealth disease such as lyme. Interstitial cystitis: In 1978, the FDA approved dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) for instillation into the bladder as a treatment for interstitial cystitis. Since DMSO is metabolized to MSM by the body, it is possible that MSM is the active ingredient in DMSO treatments.[12] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylsulfonylmethane > > > > > > I am pulsing 15 drops every other day, it's the only thing that keeps my bartonella infection (with Lyme) manageable. Guest guest
http://www.dmso-use.com/msm_dietary_supplement.html The above link answers my question. DMSO is not the same thing as MSM. MSM is a derivative of DMSO and they exhibit slightly different properties. I liked this statement: MSM is no more toxic than water. If you overdose, the extra MSM becomes inert and just passes through the system. It does have one side effect: It will cause nails and hair to grow faster, so they will have to be cut more often. There is more MSM in hair and nail cells than in any other part of the body. I have found that my nails grow at warp speed when I take MSM.
