Shoes Where? XW and Sensory Socks?

Does anyone have knowledge of any GREAT PLACESto (online) find Xtra Wide Width shoes for a 5 year old girl? The only place I have had luckin her size is with NEW BALANCE, although, stilllimited to like 3 styles. I would love to tryboots or something prettier than plain tennis shoes.Due to her sensory issues, she constantly is taking OFF her shoes. (usually just pullingit loose with her opposite foot.)Does anyonehave solutions to keeping SHOES ON. .?plus.... it is usually her right shoe...?????Not sure why. oh, well.I spend MOST all day. Putting her shoes back on,especially when away from the house, out & about. The other question is DO YOU KNOW if there is anysuch place that sells vibe socks or massage socks,or sensory socks. It is something I would like totry. Just would like a little input on the thought.Enjoy the day! ~

Re: Shoes Where? XW and Sensory Socks?

My oldest had super wide feet, Stride Rite was by far the best place.Sometimes you can find them used in thrift stores, Ebay, etc. Have youconsidered measuring both feet? Sometimes on can be bigger/smallerthan the other. You could try ABA to keep the shoes on. Don't know if this would work but for years my daughter preferred hershoes being on the wrong feet. Everyone thought she couldn't tell butI figured if she couldn't tell she should get them on the correct sidearound 50% of the time; she didn't it was near 100% on the wrong feet.I figured they must feel better, maybe feel tighter or something. Ifinally gave up & let her wear them that way. But, heaven forbid someold person or nosy mom at the Walmart keep their mouth shut when theyseem them on opposite feet!! For a year or so the only way I could get Allie to sleep was tosqueeze/rub her feet until she went to sleep. Don't we all wanna go tosleep like that?Debi

Do you live w/in driving distance of any outlets? I bought my kids 4 pairs of Stride Rites at an outlet and saved 60 bucks. They're in perfect condition and they have a larger selection than the regular SR store w/tons of wides.
