Guest guest
american Indians had all USA as free land, and what they did???????All they time make war as they tribe all needed that same land what belongot to they friends already,so they killed each other and collected they scalp. So you can be very proud as You said NOt me. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Before you go trashing the Native Americans why don't you educate yourself as to their history and the way they really interacted with each other. You have absolutely no knowledge of the true history of this land. The tribes as in any land here and abroad had some that were evolved, peaceful, highest ideals and some who were barbarians. It's the same in the history of Europe, Asia, Africa, everywhere...some good and some not so good. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2685/did-native-americans-learn-sca lping-from-europeans But only after the white man put the practice on a solid business foundation, by offering scalp bounties, did it really take off and spread to previously nonparticipating peoples. Why don't you look up the true origins of Thanksgiving? There have always been harvest celebrations but our own 'holiday' here had much different origins. .. http://www.powwows.com/articles/?p=834 On May 26, 1637 a force of Puritans attacked about 700 Pequot People near the mouth of the Mystic River at Groton, Connecticut. The Pequots had gathered for their Annual Green Corn Dance. During the gathering they were surrounded and attacked by the English and the Dutch. The Natives were ordered from the Gathering Building and as they came forth they were shot down and cut up. The rest were burned alive in the building. The English Captain Mason and Commander Underhill attacked the camp with the words " .fire, sword, blunderbuss, and tomahawk.. " They also added that " .to see them {Indians} frying in the fire, and the streams of their blood quenching the same and the stench was horrible, but the victory seemed a sweet sacrifice to the great delight to the Pilgrims and they gave praise thereof to God. " The next day, the Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony declared: " A day of Thanksgiving, thanking God that they had eliminated over 700 men, women and children. " A second Pequot Village was attacked, massacred and destroyed on June 5, 1637 near present day Stonington and a third Pequot Village was attacked, massacred and destroyed on July 28, 1637 near present day Fairfield. The Puritan fathers believed they were the Chosen People of God and that this justified anything that they did. They were in a sense Calvinists that believed most of humanity was predestined to damnation. During this period of their history the Puritans along with other European sects declared days of thanksgiving to celebrate mass murder more than to celebrate harvest. In fact for the next 100 years every " Thanksgiving Day " ordained by any leader (Governor, etc.) was to honor the gruesome " victories " of 1637 and thanking God that the " battles " had been won. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> With your total lack of any understanding or compassion for the Native Americans and complete ignorance of history small wonder you are a devotee of Jim. I personally get really tired of religious zealots who justify some kind of superior dominance and slaughter over others (we go to heaven /you fry) and all the other mindless ramblings of someone who doesn't look at facts and constructs vindication based on that which serves to validate and glorify yourself. What you have said against the Native Americans is just plain so un-Christ like and everything he stood for I wonder at how you can claim any kind of association. I'm not going to debate this with you here and would have refrained from any comments till you slandered the Native Americans. No, I'm not of native origin...i'm generic white from immigrants. ~

Guest guest
SHE SAID WE TOOK OWER THEIR LAND AS EMIGRANTS And she believe thiS!!! said... And my land before it was taken over >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Like I said, read some history. The Europeans did not come here and say let's all live together in peace. The Native Americans did not say hey, take our land, we want you to have it. Can you set up some reservations for us so the ones of us that survive smallpox (thanks for those blankets btw), syphilis etc can have a nice place to wither and die. After all...you are white folk and so we should give it to you...God's chosen ppl. Get real gyb...you are out of your league and the more you talk the more you show how much you don't know. Quit while you're ahead~
