Guest guest
Hi I had two separate situations occur with my son that made me feel something was " off " but I am just wondering what others think. This week my son has a small cavitiy filled and he was very reactive to the sensations/pain of having the tooth filled. I thought maybe the novocaine was not " kicked in " yet or it was fear that was causing his yelling/crying. We did wait a while til his mouth was really numb but he s till had the same reactions. Later though he said mom it wasnt that painful it was a different sensation and my body was freaking out. He said while his body was crying his brain was thnking why am I crying its not that bad? Now I dont know if he felt bad for the way he acted or what? but i didnt give it alot of afterthought. Yesterday he slipped and fell and whacked his head really hard against the corner of the wall. He hurt his head and neck and began to scream (very understandable!) so we got ice on and assessed the situation and he could move everything but we went to urgent care just to make sure he didnt have a concussion. He rated his pain at a 4? on impact. He said after about 5 seconds it didnt hurt that hard and once again he was wondering why his body was crying when his brain didnt think the pain was that bad? Any thoughts? oh btw he will be 12 this month and is very verbal. Allie
