Guest guest
My 10 year old's teacher called us the other day because several violent drawings with someone holding up a gun and shooting other people were found in his desk at school. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
Guest guest
Forty years ago, if a boy had drawn that picture, everyone would have taught that was typical of a boy....cowboys and Indians, G.I. Joes, etc. It's a shame that everything has a double meaning in todays world. - In AutismBehaviorProblems , " licoons " wrote: > > My 10 year old's teacher called us the other day because several > violent drawings with someone holding up a gun and shooting other > people were found in his desk at school. Guest guest
Yes, my nephew with AS draws airplanes and other 'big guns' shooting at each other. It is his plan to one day design the 'ultimate weapon.' We do not know where that idea came from... We sat down with him and asked him to explain his drawings. He thought we all understood what he was doing and why. We had to explain to him that people get hurt when weapons are used. We are not sure if he understands that concept yet. You might think about asking what the drawing is about to have a better understanding about why he is drawing that way. It could be/mean anything and probably not at all what you would first think it is... Anita
