Guest guest
Oh yes my dear. GARLIC, GARLIC, GARLIC. Liz sent a post today and there is a wonderful URL included for Dr. Weill about Yeast infections and Garlic, Acidophilus, Tea Tree Oil. You don't need Monistat, or whatever it was. Guest guest
Dear Roni, I am sorry to hear about the yeast infection. Definitely sounds like one. If you are not planning on going to the doctor for a prescription, I would recommend you go to the Health Food store and purchase Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE), and aloevera juice. I would also purchase some colloidal silver. I was told to alternate the colloidal silver and the grapefruit seed extract to keep the yeast down but not to over kill and kid rid of the good bacteria. I personally use tea tree oil on the bottoms of my feet every morning and night. This is an antifungal, antibacterial oil which also works to keep the old yeast at bay. I am sure someone else has better advice but that is definitely what I would do at this juncture. If you are miserable, I probably would get a prescription to clear this up and then continue using these natural products FOREVER while you are doing the AP. I hope this helps and wish you well soon, Love, rb09322@... wrote: > Hello everyone: > > I'm fairly new to the AP and I think I have a yeast > infection. Guest guest
Umm....once when diagnosed with E. coli in " there " the doctor wanted to prescribe Flagyll. Many of us knew the dangers of Flagyll (a small percentage of folks go blind, for example) and finally I found a cure of using a garlic clove, unpeeled, wrapped in some cheese cloth and inserted. It worked fine. felicidades, Felicia " There is a healthy way to be ill. " Sheehan

Does anyone know of any besides Monostat-7? >>>>>>>> Not to get too personal here I am assuming that your talking about yeast infection that mainly occures for women right? Guest guest
Just curious, isn't undiluted frozen OJ too much of a concentrated sugar source? Steve -------------------------------------------------------------- Try Oil of Oregano. Eat lots of plain yogurt with fresh fruit (no added sugar) or undiluted frozen OJ. barb --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by LRBCG.COM, Inc.]

Guest guest
oregano oil is strong. I just joined and so am assuming it is vaginal yeast infection you are talking about. Another alternative would be to use a good-quality tea tree oil and some plain yogurt. You put a couple drops in a TBS of yogurt and put on the end of a tampon. You then insert it and leave it there for a while. You would probably have to do this a few times per day for a couple days. I've never had one, but someone who is an aromatherapist recommends that. Guest guest
Last time I had this problem, I got a tincture called " Anti-bio " from the health food store. I recall it had goldenseal (very helpful), echinacea, and some other herbs in it. Tastes vile, but I added a dropperful to water about once an hour until it went away. As a side note, the first time I did the regimen, I got an infection - may have been yeast or urinary tract, don't know - part way through the protocol. I considered stopping, but instead I proceeded with the rest, and it went away. I think that somewhere in the die-off, I unleashed something that manifested itself as a " feminine problem, " and then killed it off by continuing the protocol. Haven't had an infection since.... Guest guest
I just found out I am diabetic and because of this I am getting yeast infections that just won't go away. What can I do to keep yeast away? I saw a post about a yogurt douche.. how exactly is this done, how much yogurt and how much water? is there any particular brand of yogurt that is best? I will also try acidopholous, can I do both at the same time? Guest guest
Question... Are yeast infections contageous?? I don't want to give this to my boyfriend and I also don't want to tell him I have it but if it is contageous I have to tell him and I have to get rid of this fast. I will try all the suggestions and see what works best. Last time I had this problem, I got a tincture called "Anti-bio" from the health food store. Guest guest
Yeah, undiluted frozen OJ is very sweet but it doesn't take much on the yogurt. I cured myself of a vaginal yeast infection eating this combination a few years ago. (I ate it ALOT. Made the yogurt by scalding a gallon of milk, letting it cool to warm, added Dannon yogurt, and putting it in a styrofoam cooler filled with warm water) Some of the things I have read about yeast is that they are janitors cleaning up heavy metals in the body. Also that yeast do not grow in a more alkaline body. Alkaline foods - vegetables - help keep the body more alkaline. So does deep breathing. http://watercure.com has information about the " water cure " which is supposed to be very effective for diabetes. You also might want to switch to eating sprouted wheat or Ezekial bread and pasta instead of all the other wheat products you currently eat. n Whitaker has a good book " Reversing Diabetes " , available at the book stores or at the library. barb --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by LRBCG.COM, Inc.]
Guest guest
lie, A good pro-biotic is off course a must. Cutting back on sugar and other simple carbohydrates is important. I also use Grapefruit Seed Extract. It's not very expensive. I get it a Vitaminshoppe.com, but your health food store should have it, too. I take the drops. A few drops are okay to mix with juice or something. More taste really yucky. When I want to take more than just a few drops I put them in gel-caps and take them that way. They also come in tablet form. I have been on AP for 4 1/2 years and now have less yeast problems than before. I hope this helps. Take care, Ute At 03:34 PM 11/30/2002 , you wrote: >My son-in-law has a recurring yeast infection from antibiotics. He has taken diflucan and now takes probiotics. Guest guest
One suggestion that comes to mind would be for him to modify his diet, if he hasn't already. Eliminate sugar, gluten, and dairy. (Easier said than done, I know!) Ellen rheumatic yeast infection My son-in-law has a recurring yeast infection from antibiotics. Guest guest
Hi - My 3 1/2 year old son has a yeast infection / rash around his penis / scrotum. Too much 'discovery' going on! So the doctor has prescribed some antifungal cream to apply - and to boil the nipples of his bottle / pacifier. (Alas, i am still struggling to get these away from a very oral kid - any ideas on this would be great?!?) I think it is likely that he has yeast overgrowth internally too. What can I do about this short of a huge dietary chance? Is there some supplment or medication that would help? Thanks! I have so many questions and not a lot of answers lately.... _______________________________________________ No banners. No pop-ups. No kidding. I gradually enlarged the hole in the nipple, so after a few days, my son did not want to use a bottle any more because it felt too strange. >>I think it is likely that he has yeast overgrowth internally too. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your response! I forgot to mention I did take one diflucan last Tuesday and one on Saturday. I don't think it worked for me or I have a different infection. I sure have the symptoms of a classic yeast infection. I think you are all right in waiting until Friday. Even though its killing me. Thanks again! Stay Well Kim...
Guest guest
Are you following a sugar-free diet? . . . Taking probiotics? Eating natural foods?Diflucan is just the first step in reducing fungal problems. . . You may need a refill, but it you'll start taking Acidopholis, Primal Defense, or another quality probiotic, you can start rebuilding the beneficial organisms that keep fungal problems in check. You'll need to take them for some time . . . You can track your progress with the spit test.RogeneGMCLADY98@... wrote: My obgyn gave me diflucan 2 pills to take in 48 hours well I have and the itch is still there on the RX theres a refill should I take it too ? Guest guest
My ND gave me a prescription for Diflucan and prescribed 21 pills. 2 pills is not going to kill a fungal infection. Unfortunately OB/GYN's only think of the vaginal yeast instead of the yeast proliferating in the body. If you can, I'd discuss getting a 3-week course of Diflucan. It can be hard on the liver so watch for any signs of liver congestion. I have never had any problems with it and I have a pretty miserable liver. Guest guest
, I would. Dr. Kolb has had me take Diflucan since April every other day so it won't hurt you and it will clear up the rest of that infection.
