Guest guest Posted February 18, 2006 Report Share Posted February 18, 2006 Hi Marge, Kefir grains can be as small as tiny rice grains or sometimes nearly as big as a knobbly golf ball, but in between is more usual. The culture does break apart occassionally and sometimes the 'grains' grow in a more sheet-like fashion. Kefir grains are endlessly variable in shape.
