Guest guest
So many posts and I can't seem to find the one that talked about the vegie wash concentration of MMS. Could someone post/send that again. Thanks.
Guest guest
I use MMS to clean meats, and vegetables. I also use to disinfect home. Here is a list of home uses. I also use in tri jet fogger to disinfect my home. Humble said this is unnecessary using the saucer activation is as good, I still like the fogger. http://healthfreedoms.org/2010/01/15/home-uses-for-mms-chlorine-dioxide/ http://mms-central.com/newspg001a.htm http://healthfreedoms.org/2010/03/24/using-chlorine-dioxide-to-effect-a-safe-cle\ \ an-disinfected-place-for-your-pets/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disinfectant http://jimhumble.biz/index.php?option=com_content & view=article & id=25 & Itemid=5 > > So many posts and I can't seem to find the one that talked about the vegie wash concentration of MMS. Guest guest
Hello Roseann, An excellent general purpose solution can be made by putting 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) of 22.4% sodium chlorite (MMS) in a glass and add 2.5 ml of 10% citric acid. Let this activate for 10 minutes, then add enough water to make a total of 500 ml. The shelf life of this solution, if kept in a cool place away from UV light, is 8 - 12 weeks. You can put this into a spray bottle and use it to sanitize counters, sinks, and cutting boards. You can also spray it on vegetables, fish, and meat after they have been rinsed and just prior to cooking. Soak time is 1 - 3 minutes. Keep in mind that chlorine dioxide in water and chlorous acid (what activated MMS becomes) are not detergents. You need to wash first, rinse, then sanitize or disinfect. In the case of food products, if you don't want to ingest the disinfectant, you can also rinse after disinfecting. Guest guest
Hello Healinghope, Your Wikipedia reference http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disinfectant has this interesting sentence... " Disinfectants are also different from biocides — the latter are intended to destroy all forms of life, not just microorganisms. " Did you happen to notice that? Guest guest
Can someone advise if unacidified MMS is the same as stabalized oxygen? And can one use unacidified MMS to wash vegetables and clean countersAgnes From: silverfox_science <poast@...>Subject: [ ] Re: Fruit and Vegie Wash Date: Tuesday, March 1, 2011, 4:19 PM Hello Healinghope,Your Wikipedia referencehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disinfectant has this interesting sentence..."Disinfectants are also different from biocides — the latter are intended to destroy all forms of life, not just microorganisms."Did you happen to notice that?Tom> >> > So many posts and I can't seem to find the one that talked about the vegie wash concentration of MMS. Guest guest
Hello Agnes, Same chemical but different concentrations. MMS is a much higher concentration than the various " stabilized oxygen " products. In most cases, using low dilutions of unactivated sodium chlorite to wash vegetables and counters would be as effective as washing them with water only.
