Very well thought out, .  Lucky kids!Though I support research looking into epidermals, pitocin etc etc...I don't think we'll ever find any one thing causing spectrum disorders. Thimerasol is just one part. I also question the very act of all this medical intervention to begin with. If a person needs intervention fine! Using Valtrex in this case I support. I hate that we have to use Valtrex and Diflucan and I am curious about the future backside of these interventions, but these are situations where we feel we have little choice but to use medical interventions. In my house autism to me is the tons of medical intervention I got when pregnant that wasn't necessary, labor with tons of medical interventions due to modern practices, then assault after assault on my son's immature system with no true knowledge of what a tiny human needs to grow healthfully. You can feed your kids goldfish crackers in a foil bag while waiting at the ped office to get antibiodics for another ear infection. We have totally lost our minds when it comes to what the human body needs. We need to clean up this planet so we will be blessed with organic whole foods, clean water, clean air, minerals and take the time to teach our children to live this way. We are all guilty of lack of planning and running to Mcs during our lifetimes. Autism to me is all of this. All of this modern living that does not support a strong immune system. If I were to have another baby I wouldn't be scared to death of any one thing, but I would study what the human body needs to do to carry a pregnancy and labor well. I would have a birth plan and unless in a TRUE emergency I would try to follow this plan out with little to NO medical intervention. Mom needs to eat whole clean foods GFCF at least, cultured foods, probiotics, water, minerals, healthy fats and breast feed. Let these little babies develop naturally without vaccination. Right there we are taking 10-20 triggers of autism away.I'm not shocked at all that my kid has autism. I can't believe he is doing as well as he is when you think of what we are doing to our babies prior to conception through to 18 months when they fall apart. I take full responsibility.Sorry for the long vent, but it's so obvious. We're all heart broken because our kid can't go to a pizza party. I was there, my husband still is. Our entire culture needs to shift. When your kid comes back to you from being nonverbal and lost and says "love you," suddenly you don't care about pizza parties. You are grateful for a healthy brain and a second chance. You serve your kid vegetables with pride because you understand that children need nutrients to develop and that the pizza parties are killing our society. Autism is the careless lifestyle that we all got used too. Fast and easy and so far away from what nature intended is what got us all into this mess.I don't have time to shop at Pottery Barn or have a perfect house and I don't have the money anymore. I wish my son never had to go through this, but if this is what it took to WAKE me up I appreciate the wake up call so that my kids can have a future. My old life was starbucks, and lunch somewhere out. I'm trapped in my kitchen now. It's not sexy, but it forces me to be with my kids, play with them, pay attention to them, and make nutrition first priority. Now we don't have to run around to doc appointments or therapy appointments. Suddenly when your priorities are in the right place as BED has forced mine to be....problems start going away and we stop running around in modern chaos.

I'm with you! and since my little sis just found out she's expecting,

hopefully her baby will benefit from the difficult life lesson we've

learned here :)

I can't imagine a day when I'll quit making homemade yogurt and opt

for store-bought. or when i'll buy anything other than

natural/organic chicken. My son's DAN! just looked at his porphyrin

test this week and said he had high levels of arsenic....probably from

eating chicken. Did you all know they inject chicken with arsenic?

to make it more plump/heavier so they get more $ for it. I googled it

and there was a good article on the topic in the New York Times a few

years ago. I don't know how much it's contributing to his problem,

but you can bet I'll never buy " regular " chicken again!

I do let my kids go to the pizza parties, but they don't eat the

pizza, or the cake, or drink the soda. we take our own food along and

lucky for us, they've been doing this for quite some time, so they

know no different. My son's teacher often gives candy -dye-filled

candy with crazy amounts of sugar - to the class as a reward. He gets

stickers. he's fine with it. better than I would be. He's a trooper!

I had heard about the chickens being fed arsenic but not about being

injected with it! Im surprised eating this doesnt make more of us

sick! I am going to have to see if I can find some organic chicken

around here somewhere.. The HFS we have here is too small. Maybe

publix?

I'm sorry, they aren't injected with it...it is put in their food like

you said. Not that it's any better, just wanted to get the right

information out there :)

Amen . Awesome post....just heard today about another mom

with a kid on the spectrum who was diagnosed with aggressive form of

breast cancer...she was not " into the diet changes - such a hassle. "

The kids are the canaries in our coal mines. Mine is not recovered

yet, but we are all recovering in this house and hopefully this will

be the only and the worst illness thanks to all we are learning....---
