Guest guest
I havent noticed him grinding his teeth. But I have been watching him and he is a HUGE jaw clencher. That could be whats causing the pain. He said he is stressed with the thought of needing his tonsils and adenoids out. I knew that would happen So I told him that we wont do anything for now...(in the meantime Ill check outother avenues) and see how things look in a few months. I just worry because he really does NEED help straigthening his teeth and jaw. Allie
Guest guest
Hi there! I can speak from experience of having a bad alignment and jaw pain. Mine got so bad that I had to have both my jaws broken and realigned. The bad alignment caused my right tmj to dislocate and at this point they have removed the cartilage that was badly damaged. If the pain returns, they will then have to put in "fake" cartilage. The reason I'm telling you this is because I put having the initial surgery off for many years and am now paying for it in my late 30's. I certainly do not want your son to be stressed out beyond belief, but it may be good to consider the tonsil surgery. Trust me, I know how traumatic these things can be for kids on the spectrum. I also don't want to be judgmental so please do not feel that I'm trying to push anything. I just wanted you to know what my experience has been and how much it has affected my life and I'm not on the spectrum. Meredith
