Guest guest
Part of why I am so terribly behind in my emails is I have been focused on getting my virtual visits set up, as per my goal at IMP camp. Well, it took me until about a week ago to finish it, but I finally got it done, yay! It was more difficult to figure out than I thought it would be. The whole pay pal thing took longer for my technologically challenged brain to handle than it would most of you, I think. The wiki was helpful (thank you to Lynn and Kristi) I have a very basic Brinkster website and getting the paypal HTML code onto it required some customer assistance from them, and I am worried I cannot now amend it, but for now it will do. I sent an email out to my patients to tell them about my new service. I got several emails back saying, "what a great idea". I also got several phone calls and emails from patients ignoring this email asking for free medical advice. That was discouraging. I told them, "this is a perfect opportunity for a virtual visit". No takers. Then I DID get my first virtual visit AND I found the first glitch: SO I did the paypal URL return to IMH like the wiki suggests, which I thought was brilliant. The problem is that after the patient payed, she did not return to my site like she should have, she just closed her browser. So I got a message from paypal that she had paid, but I never got the Instant medical history. It's not the end of the world, but it is not as seamless as I would like it. There's my experience. Lonna Subject: AQ credit cardTo: practiceimprovement1 Date: Friday, August 8, 2008, 8:22 PM Waynethe only reason I know about the paypal return URL is because last year we had set up IMH with paypal as the cash collector for DIY virtual visits.the paypal credit card for me is $1 and change per $25 transaction. The set up is not too bad either from the paypal end. I guess I'd skip the AQ credit card - sounds like they are interested in turning you into their cash cow.AQ also offers a discount if you buy for a year- I think something like 3 months free. But you should try for a few months to see if it works for you before you buy the year's worth. If you want to import into your EMR, you need at least the $21.75 level. (no financial connections) .
