Leah,

Hi, Dominic has had a harder time falling asleep during chelation

most nights not getting to sleep until after midnight, but after that

sleeps the entire night. I also give him melatonin 3 mgs. and he still

doesn't fall asleep easy, but off chelation he's fine fall asleep between

9 and 10. Dominic also had a cold after the first cycle. I guess this

might be normal?

In my opinion, I think when anyone gets a cold it's the bodies natural

way of detoxing poisons out of the body. It makes sense that it's happening

now while he's chelating. Like I said, this is just my opinion.

This has happened several times with my kids. I've been a bit

reluctant to chelate lately since my kids are doing pretty well and

the chelation seems to bring on colds. I may give echinacea and

extra vitamin C at the end of the chelation cycle next time to

diminish the cold duration. Any opinions?

Colds serve as one way for the body to detox.

Chelation generally messes up sleep.

If you are using DMSA, please be aware that there is a 'rare' side

effect called neutropenia which apparently is not so rare among the

mercury toxic. The DMSA can reduce the number of a certain kind of

white blood cell - neutrophils - to dangerously low levels. Recurrent

sinus infections at chelation, etc. may be the first sign. Adults who

had this reported it to happen to them each time they took DMSA, so if

it is happening (it can be confirmed by a blood count if you want to

be certain) then you avoid DMSA use from then on.

ALA by itself does not do this.

Ben has had sleeping problems since his first vaccines were given. I know

that mercury being released into the system can make children regress in

different areas for a while. If your son had sleeping problems a couple of

years ago, the mercury could be bringing them up again.
