This is something you should speak to your Doc about.cherylHi All, My son takes Valtrex & Nizoral since 16 Jan. He took two Liver Test recently in Feb & Mar. Some elements are not within referecne range. Find details below. Test done on 6 Mar : Alk. Phosphatase 476 U/L (ref M:8-300 F:64-300)SGOT/AST 43 IU/L (ref M:5-37 F:5-31)Test done on 12 Feb : Protein - total : 82 g/L (ref 60-80)Gamma GT : 20 U/L (ref < 17)BTW his blood count test showed some elements not in range too : Haematocrit (PCW) : (low) 39.1% (M:40-54 F:35-47)Neutrophils : (low) 39% (ref 40-75)Would like to get some advice here whether I should continue to give Valtrex & Nizoral. Any one face similar test before, what you guys will do. Thanks in advance for your help. xl_mum

You could supplement with Milk Thistle, Artichoke and Dandelion.

Mickie has been on Valtrex Nizoral since December 07 and his AST and

ALT are 46. They have been high for years. Make sure it's because of

the Valtrex. It may be something else. Are you Chelating also?

Dear Zurama,

That means you continure to give Valtrex Nizoral with AST & ALT at

46. In this case I will choose to proceed too. I'm sure Valtrex or

Nizoral has make these figures out of range since the test before

Valtrex Nizoral are always in normal range.

I thank so much for your input. I do not want to stop Valtrex

Nizoral as far as I can.

Dear Cheryl,

I thanks for your feedback also.

My doctor is very conservative, not only the valtrex dosage he

prescribed is under dose(500mg per day for 7yo kid)he doesn't want to

prescribe Valtrex & Nizoral anymore after the liver test that I have

to look for another doctor who give 1000 mg per day.

Thanks

Okay, this is actually a problem, in my opinion.  The dose is too low for a 7yo.  You're really better off stopping until you have a doctor that will prescribe a proper dose of everything.  With the dosage being as low as it is, I would be more concerned about virus mutation.CherylDear Zurama, That means you continure to give Valtrex Nizoral with AST & ALT at 46.
