So glad to hear you set your date. Sometimes just knowing you are going to take them out will put your mind at ease, therefore easing your symptoms, does that make sense?

HI CARI,

I KNOW WHAT U MEAN, BUT LIKE I TOLD U BEFORE MY SYMPTOMS WENT AWAY WHEN I GOT PREGRANT, AND THE ONLY THING I HAVE NOW IS THE RASH, AND THAT TOO IS GOING AWAY WITH A CREAM I ORDERED THRU THE MAIL. SO THEREFORE I AM NOT SICK ANYMORE, BUT I PLAN ON HAVING THEM TAKEN OUT ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE A GUT INSTINT THAT SOMETHING IS JUST NOT RIGHT WITH THEM NOT TO MENTION WHAT I DID GO THRU AT ONE TIME.

Welcome to the group :) I am the founder and have been on Xolair

just over a year. It took me 6 months to see any effect. I used to be

on 40 mg or more of pred every day. Now, I am off and only have to

take it for a two or three days when my asthma gets really bad.

Remember, each of us are individuals and react differently to this

medication. Trust your doctors judgement :)

Again, welcome :)

hi, twotrees2! I have fibro & osteo &

rhematoid...to me it makes no difference, I hurt.

the treatment is the same: anti-inflamatories

DMARDS and I inject enbrel x2 weekly. I don't

use hydrocodone, don't like that surreal feeling.

I do take amitriptylene to sleep, but that's it.

what helps me best is water - hot water - shower

or tub before bedtime.gentle hugs, Marcia

Some rheumatologists ignore the tests unless certain symptoms are present., Some other rheumatologists ignore the symptoms if the tests are not positive, I have never heard of a sure-fire test tor RA. Some tests are indicative but not conclusive. Likewise physical examination can be difficult to interpret and this often means a long time before a diagnosis is firm. Most inflammatory arthritis is hard to diagnose unless someone fits a classic pattern. I think a good rheumatologist considers all available information, including patient history and both tests and examinations. If you don't think your rheumatologist gave you adequate consideration or explanation, look for a second opinion. God bless.

Welcome to the site. Usually it takes quite a while to get a diagnosis and find the right combination and dosages of medicines to help you but most people get pretty good relief eventually. The first year or two are often the hardest. You already have the diagnosis and some people take a year or more to get that far.

You should be seeing a rheumatologist who takes you seriously and treats you aggressively. This usually means being on a DMARD (Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drug). You can go to ArthritisInsight.com to find a list of commonly-used arthritis drugs and a brief description of each. If you let us know what medicines you are on we might be able to suggest other things to ask your doctor about. God bless.

I'm 45 in New Jersey. I am not surprised by my diagnosis but I have to admit

it's been a mind blower. I have Sjorgens so it depresses me that I cannot even cry about it. I feel very overwlemed. I miseed my appt with rheumy on friday cuz I was so sick

I could barely move; one thing after another. It's a constant assault and helluva lotta pain.

God Bless

Dear Patti,

I am 42 and although I have had Hashimoto's thyroiditis for 14

years, I finally got them to consider the possibility that I also

have Rheumatoid arthritis. Now they are telling me they believe I

also have lupus (in addition to the RA). I am not dealing well with

this either. I am selling our house and getting something more

manageable, and this is helping me deal with it personally a little

better. I am also really cognizant of my mortality at the moment. (I

actually told my husband that I would like to structure everything so

that he could handle everything if something happened to me.....as we

have 4 kids) These plans are probably good ideas for everyone

though. Everyone should ponder their finances and a personal affairs

portfolio so that loved ones would at least know where everything is.

The reality is though......that according to my rheumatologist

and my internist who sent me there.....there has never been a better

time to have both of these illnesses, if indeed we must. If they are

caught early, we have a fair shot at slowing their progress. Many

people live many years with little more than exaustion and stiff

joints.

I don't mean to downplay the devastation..........I truly get

it, but it isn't 1950 or even 1970. You and I will do far better

than those souls who were our age with these diagnoses in even 1970.

Watch you and I eat well, manage our stress, drink lots of

water, and outlive all of our relatives !

Welcome, and good to have you here.

I remember when I was a teenager in the 60's, a friend of my mother had RA. All

they had to treat it then was steroids. She was bedridden, and the steroids had

made her swell until she could hardly see out of her bloated face. You are

right. As bad as it is it is much better than it was when I was a child.

============================

Hi ,

Welcome to the group and glad your here. Do make yourself at home and

enjoy the files and archives.

You need something to help jump start and detoxify your pancreas. There

is a formula in the files for this. You also can make a tea to drink

three times per day for your underactive thyroid. Here is the recipe:

2 parts Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus)

1 part of Damiana (a diffusa var aphrodiaca) or Kola (Cola nitida)

1 part of Nettles (Urtica dioica)

1 part of Oats (Avena sativa)

1 part of Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium)

Pour boiling distilled or very nicely filtered water over and allow to

steep for 15 minutes. This will be very good for your underactive thyroid.

Other than that changing to an all raw diet of fresh organic (if

possible) fruits and green leafy vegetables will do wonders for your

diabetes and thyroid. You might also consider adding in some ginseng,

ginger, aswaganda and maybe some licorice to help boost your adrenals.

Drinking a tea made from parsley or better yet, juicing fresh parsley

will help your adrenals as well. The adrenals and thyroid are

inextricably tied to one another. Your weight will naturally come down

by itself as you become more raw. The body finds its own preferred

weight and will go down to that all by itself. All you need to do is

give it what it needs and remove what it doesn't need and it sounds to

me like you are beginning to do just that.

Yes, going raw can be a bit of a challenge but anytime we have to change

our paradigms or points of view it can be a bit of a challenge. However,

you are on the right path and with a little assistance you will achieve

your own good health back in short order. We are here to help you do

that and support you on your journey.

Peace be with you .

Welcome a! Don't ever be afraid to ask a question... tell us what your diet consists of..this will help us to help you. Eat, drink, etc.. .

Well, I have been here a long time and have never posted...not that I didn't have anything to ask or post I was just afraid. Everyone seems really friendly here though so I thought maybe I would ask a question. I have been on one form of birth control or another since after the birth of my first child 8 years ago, while on birth control I gained 2 children and 100 pounds...the children were a welcome although surprising addition but the weight is not. Due to my knee problem my husband decided to seek another method so that I could get off the Bc and lose the weight. My last form of BC was the Depo shot...last taken 5 months ago, I have been trying desperately to lose weight since then...trying many things Ive read here as well only Im not losing but maintaining the same weight. I went to my doctor last week and she told me not to stress about it to much that until the depo shot was out of my system I would not be able to lose weight, she feels that with my history it will come

off fairly easily after that. She also said that it can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years (2 years in some women) for it to be out and you start to cycle again. Is there anything I can do to speed this process up and get my body back to normal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Hmmm, well lets see, I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables...love them in fact. The extent of my dairy eating is yogurt and some cheeses here and there. I cant drink milk as it breaks me out in hives so that is a no no. I am not a big meat eater, occasionally some chicken but that's about it. I drink a lot of water now, occasionally a cup of coffee or tea. I like oatmeal with fruit cut up in it...not real sure if that is what you wanted to know, but that is my diet.

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome , Ive been here a couple of months just watching and getting a feeling of the atmosphere, I was on another list before this one and someone asked about a problem they had and I was very interested in the answers because I have the same problem but instead of helping with the problem they started bashing him. There were some very nasty things said that made me feel uncomfortable so I left the group. I have seen that some of the people feel the same way about the problem here BUT they are nice when talking about it. That makes a big difference. Anyway, didn't mean to babble on so, thanks for the welcome and I hope you have a nice day!

We drink water from the tap, its good and doesn't leave your mouth feeling dry like bottled water does, I will have to get some lemons and try the juice in it. I have never tried a fast or cleansing before, I wouldn't know how to do it. I know it would be drink all juice and no food or anything, but just clear juices or would orange and grapefruit juice work too. I have seen cleansing products at the health food store but never tried one of them before.

Well, diet looks pretty good... Try adding lemon juice (the real thing) to your water (is your water RO or distilled?).. Have you ever considered fasting or cleansing? A juice or water fast?
