Guest guest
Hi and "R" from Sue, Another cause for "crawling sensations on the skin" called --- Formication ----may be low Progesterone levels. according to Dr. Ray Peat's Book called Progesterone in Orthomolecular Medicine...p. 60. Dr. Peat was Dr. Lee's mentor on Natural hormone info. When going through menopause in the 90's.....I often had feelings like spiders crawling on my legs.. due to the IM -balance of hormones... Luckily my GYN was open to my info on Natural hormones.. & the materials I showed her.... but before that ----I spent 7 yrs. on synthetic meds by another doctor before 7 additional years on Natural progesterone cream from AIM intl. and natural Triest made by a compounding pharmacy. Diagnos -Tech labs...or Quest, or Aeron labs... can do a Salivary hormone test for progesterone levels and the 3 estrogens as well as DHEA, ,cortisol levels and testosterone...or google Dr. Zava 's labs....etc. Be sure to use Salivary Hormone test..levels and NOT Blood tests. OR... 24 hour urine tests are also an option from RHEIN Consulting LABS. Make sure the doc gets help from the lab on interpretation... as 24 hour urine ones have different measures than Salivary hormone ones. ...Hopefully you can get a GYN or ND or Nutrition specialist in NATURAL Progesterone to order the tests. ( Often times compounding Pharmacies will have referrals.)since most MD's think ProsgestIN is the same as progesterONE. and IT"S NOT.... Even the Washington Post got the two confused when writing an article about the HALTED Women's Initiative Study that showed so many dangerous side effects of the Synthetic hormones..that they stopped the study.. Another good source is Lee MD's website and Virginia Hopkins his past editor..before he died... His books and online newsletters/ websites are excellent on the subject as well. Hope that helps, Sue Re: OT/cross post: Super gross, worms??Maine Posted by: "rednews5" rednews@... rednews5 Sat Mar 29, 2008 10:51 am (PDT) My daughter was taking an anti seizure medicine and when on it shesaid it made her feel like her skin was crawling.
