Hi, everyone - I just received this announcement from Crabtree at Towson University. This is exciting news. I attached a copy for you to share with everyone in your circles. Announcement You are cordially invited to attend the LAUNCH of the new Towson University Center for Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders on Monday, June 9, 2008 Please RSVP by June 6 The Center was established in February 2008 with a generous donation from Therese and Erdman, in order to form a link between the university and the community of adults with autism. The goals of the Center are to facilitate outreach and programming for adults on the spectrum; resources for professionals, families, employers, and the general public; and education, training, and research opportunities for students and community professionals, in order to help adults on the autism spectrum lead fulfilling and productive lives in the community. The launch will be held in the Potomac Lounge of the University Union at Towson University, and will include a reception at 6:00 PM with guest speakers Dr. Gerhardt, President of the Organization for Autism Research, Ari Ne'eman, President of The Autistic Self Advocacy Network, and Plank, Founder of the advocacy website Wrongplanet.net, providing presentations from 7:00-9:00 PM.
