Guest guest
Hi all. I am just curious, will being on Valtrex help prevent our kids from getting new viruses, like colds or other respiratory infections? Since its an antiviral, I would think so , but Im not sure how it works exactly. Have you all noticed your kids getting sick less while on Valtrex? I appreciate any info about this! Guest guest
It does to help to some extent. It depends on the virus and if it's one that will be targeted by your specific antiviral. When my son does get a viral infection it's always minor and goes quickly. Respiratory infections are more likely bacterial so you may need an antibiotic. My son used to get bronchitis constantly and we had to go on a long term abx. cherylHi all.
