Guest guest
My 5th grade nephew who has ASD reported to my sister that a child in his class had his mouth duct taped by the teacher and aide. The police were notified, the teacher and aide are on leave until further investigation. It was just on the news in Sacramento. I can`t stand hearing stories like this. Working as an aide myself I have been trained to restrain children in crisis and it never involves duct tape. I urge parents to be informed of what the restraint policies are at your child`s school. Even if your child isn`t being restrained it is possible, depending on the class, that other kids are and it would be good to know what your school`s protocol is.
