Jenn: After treating with antivirals is it easier for the gut to heal?

Jenn, When did you see good results from coconut kefir. Today is day three and my boys love it! They hate the coconut kefir pudding/cheese. Don't know what to do about that. I guess I need to find recipes to mix the kefir cheese into. But I am thankful that they like the kefir itself. How much did you give per day? What kind of good results did you see overall? You really do have to get these things in check before you start Valtrex. That said, the kefir and sacc. boulardii fixed the problems for us withing 2 months. Then the Valtrex also.Since we started the antivirals we have seen shorter periods of WOW!!! Knock your socks off gains that lasted several weeks and longer periods of slow and steady gains. Our son completely overcame his inability to show and share on days 14 and 15 of natural antivirals. This was what qualified him for a dx of PDD-NOS. It never occurred to him anybody else besides him would be interested in anything he is. Now, he shows us absolutely EVERTHING... .. shares everything he's doing with us, asks us to play games with him, wants to move his train table into the family room for crying out loud because he wants to be with everybody and not miss anything (his words). Greets people by name. Is capable of short conversations. Answers and asks questions including Why? Now when I prompt him what to say (old habits die hard) instead of parroting me he uses HIS words. days ago. He has had spontaneous speech for a long time, but in speaking to other people as far as socially, we usually had to prompt him in the beginning. Tonight, I told him to tell our neighbor who was sick (who we don't know that well) 'I hope you feel better' and Adam said 'I don't want you to feel bad' and gave him a hug.Last night he sat on the floor with his Daddy and taught him very patiently how to spin a frisbee like a top. "No, Daddy, watch how I'm doing it." "Okay, now you try." After Daddy tries and messes up on purpose Adam looks him in the eye and says "That's okay Daddy, I'll show you again.... look, do it like me". We have never done it before but we want to fine tune social skills, work on some self help skills and pre writing, and behavioral (since antiviral and finding his language he is a saucy little brat lol). After playing with him and his dinosaurs for twenty minutes or so she looked up at us and said "Who diagnosed him again?" After meeting with his teacher the next day and observing him in his school environment, she called me and said they don't need to do a full out asessment- they can write a five hour a week program after just seeing him at home and school and charge us just for an hour.
