Re: Appointment Schedules/AQ

One of the problems I've noticed with AC is that I can't lock in a schedule too tight or I can't add on something "after hours". It seems impossible to put in phone time in front of and in back of my usual hours to give room to put "extras" nor is there an easy way to set up a template for 1/2 visit followed by 15 minute visit followed by 15 minute administrative. Would AQ allow this? And what are people using as their overall calendar to view how the week is shaping up? For right now I'm using Windows but I find that "one slip of the mouse" and that appointment slide with the cursor? I like the format of the Windows where the whole day is "lined" top to bottom 8, 9, 10, etc. and that visually works for me as opposed to computer calendars that just show you the appointments and not the blanks around it. Hope I'm not being to

unclear so others can share what they are using.

Thank you Lynn!

[Practiceimprovemen t1] Exporting Appointment Quest Schedule

OK, I looked and looked, high and low, left and right. Even under the couch. But I couldn't find it. Lynn (or someone) can you tell me how to export the schedule from AQ so I can import it into AC?

Or is it in plain sight and I just missed it? I am at the 21-bucks-or- so level, so I should be able to do this. Oh, and does it just do one day, or a week at a time? What happens if you import the same day twice into AC?

I plan on experimenting a little bit here.

Now, I haven't gone "live" with AQ yet. I need to have a training session with Dr C and the MA to show them how it works, what the patient sees, the internal capabilities and how it will affect us. But I've been monkeying (is dat a word?) around.

AQ does let you define an appointment "lead in" time and "lead out" time for pre and post appointment preparation for a type of appointment.

Myriait sounds a bit complicated what you are trying to do. Any reason why you have to have exactly 30 then 15 then 15? Seems like it would be a total pain keeping this straight and only you making your own appointments would be able to do this on AC. Seems like if you had the right total amount of clinical time you were seeing patients, it would be easier just to let your schedule fill as it wants to. Suppose you get 8 requests one day for 30 minute type appointments but only one 15 minute type, or the reverse? If you are going to try the 15 and then 30 minute template, you won't be able to jam them in there. One way to do it would be just to have a 45 minute appointment but if you knew they weren't going to take too long, then you could book a 15 minute on the back end of a 45 minute appointment. I think you can set up this kind of appointment schedule on AQ - looks possible though I haven't tried, you'd have to do something like a 30 minute appointment with 30 minute lead out time, a 15 minute appointment starting on the half hour (or whenever) with a 45 minute lead out time, or some such thing...LynnTo: From: myriaemeny@...Date: Wed, 13 Aug 2008 18:05:10 -0700Subject: Re: Appointment Schedules/AQ

For after or before hours:Have your work schedule and office hours longer than you usual day. Then block the overtime. If you need extra time on a given day you can unblock that time. We usually just change the start date of the block to the next day and it opens up todays time. For the 30 minute then 15 and 15 schedule it can be done but do you really want to do it. Consider 20 minute slots. It is still only 3 people per hour. If you need more time for some time of appointments such as new patients you can set up a new patient schedule with 1 per hour but then what do you do if you have less new patients and more return or the other way around. You will have unused time slots.Despite what I wrote above we do have some longer spots. I have blocked intermittent spots on the schedule to do phone calls, catch up etc. We just set up a block at a certain time.
