We did AIT on my two sons last month and saw no results what so

ever.

> AIT should NOT be done more than once in a 9 month

period. It takes approximately that long for the full effect of the

treatment to work. I don't know about loud noises, since that is NOT

part of AIT. It is headphone usage that must be avoided after AIT.

My experienced AIT trained facilitator informed me of both of these

requirements prior to my daughter completing the 10 day AIT therapy.

did it help?? if so, what kinds of gains did you see? Interested in doing this program with my daughter.kcboone wrote: My daughter completed Berard AIT when she was 4 yrs. old. This is one of the reasons why I like home programs better (and by this I'm not saying that clinic programs are worse):  With a home based program you can utilize multiple processing exercises.  I always think that anytime you are working on processing, working on several different areas at the same time seem to work better than just one.  I don't know how they do it in clinic programs but at home and with our OT we a lot of gross motor exercises, fine motor, cross laterals, etc. while doing AIT.  It gets the processing systems all working together and helps to train the brain to create new pathways for each activity by having to coordinate them all at the same time.  I've always found these things to work better while working in conjunction rather than working them separately.cherylWe did AIT on my two sons last month and saw no results what so ever. > AIT should NOT be done more than once in a 9 month period. It did help my daughter. She has NEVER EVER worn her hair down so that it would touch her face, neck or ears. On the last day of therapy, she asked that I leave her hair down. She has only worn it down several times since then, but prior to this, if her hair brushed against her skin she'd have a cosmic meltdown. Her speech also became clearer, and she scripted less often. I was going to do the AIT again this summer however I am seeing great results from the Chiropractic Neurology treatments that I am hesitant to add anything more until our physician discharges her. Its hard to know where the gains or regressions are coming from if you're doing more than on intervention at a time (at least in my case this is true).
