Guest guest
Call your service provider, some (T-Mobile) have International networks that you can connect to without additional fees.It also depends on your plan-- Pedro Ballester, M.D. Warren, OH
Guest guest
I have gone on vacations (inside the country) and answered my patients calls and if there is a patient that needs to go to the hospital (newborns) I ask the hospitalist to take care of them. Once I went to Mexico and checked the office twice a day, but I have secretaries that would take notes and communicate with me, and I had contacted a pediatrician nearby in case any picky patient needed to be seen and didn't want to go to an ER. vacation/cellphones/mexico We think we can afford a vacation this yearWe think we can go to Los Cabos In mexico if we book now it is affordable for februrary when you really need a beachI have neve left the country as an IMpCan I take my patients calls on my cell does anyone know? I do not mind checking email but only a few patietns .do thatI s uppose i can callthe macihne from the hotel and check my machien twice a day-- but anyone know about mexico and cellphones?Thank you-- If you are a patient please allow up to 12 hours for a reply by email/please note the new email address.Remember that e-mail may not be entirely secure/ MD ph fax

Guest guest
Absolutely calling your cell carrier is the first step. Also, there are a number of other options, from renting a satellite phone for a week, to buying a cheap phone and SIM card that will match whatever network will be available in Cabo. Google “international cell phone service” for the options. Finally, if you will be staying somewhere that has great internet access, you could use an IP phone plugged into your laptop. I have been generally unimpressed with internet access where I have stayed in Cabo, though the Marriott in Puerto Vallarta has amazing high-speed wireless access. dts From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Jean Antonucci Sent: Saturday, August 09, 2008 8:42 AM To: practiceimprovement1 Subject: vacation/cellphones/mexico We think we can afford a vacation this year We think we can go to Los Cabos In mexico if we book now it is affordable for februrary when you really need a beach I have neve left the country as an IMp Can I take my patients calls on my cell does anyone know? Guest guest
I dont know about YOUR cell and whether it has coverage on the Mexican network, but what I have done on our twice yearly medical trips to Honduras is use Skype. You can forward your phone to a Skype number and as long as you have internet access and your laptop, field your calls in that manner. What I usually do, though, as we are off to villages during the day, is change my answering machine message to let pts know I am away but to leave a message and I will call back in the evening. Good luck. Maybe your cell carrier can tell you other options that they offer.
