Guest guest
Hi Angie, I applaud your " can do " attitude to help your kids. We also do the gfcfsf diet around here. The only think I have added to our regimen (aside from trying to do mostly organic and no chemicals), is the Young Coconut Kefir (YCK) from the body ecology diet. You can buy the starter packets from the BED website. To watch a video on how to make it, you can watch our DAN! doctor demonstrates how to do it on youtube.com. Just do a search on Coconut Kefir with Kurt Woeller. I think it's great for the kids to drink the kefir, because the fermented coconut milk is full of beneficial vitamins AND it helps kill off candida, as far as I have learned. Good luck! Guest guest
Angie- I went to parent meeting recently where one of the directors of Wellness pharmacy spoke....it was an informational meeting about getting started with biomedical therapy. One of the handouts was on ASD diet options writtenby a certified nutrition consultant (from the 2007 dan conference). I think this might be helpful to you. You can call them at 1- I'm sure they would send this to you...and more if needed..but if they don't let me know and i'll send you a copy.... anything to help our kids- i'm with you!! carrie > > Is there anyone that has a link or a list of the pros/cons to the > different diets around....GF/CF vs SCD vs BED? > > Currently we are on the GFCF (also slowly eliminating soy, and then > going to rotate out corn since we are starting to see issues we think > with corn)....and I just feel 'stagnint'..so I was just interested in > learning more about the others, and what you guys are on and suggest.. > > Also, when doing the SCD/BED/others? do you also stay GFCFSF as well? > > Any tips/pros/cons would be greatly accepted! > > As far as 'hard work' goes, it doesnt matter to me, I am willing to do > whatever it takes, and just being GFCFSF is already 'hard' work, but > its slowly becoming just 'work' not 'hard work' anymore, so if > additional work or changing it up a bit helps the boys, then I am all > for it! > > THanks! > Angie > Mom to Ethan, , and >
Guest guest
Thanks ! I will give them a call! I just cant kick this feeling that we are 'missing' something...although, I know its Valtrex (we are starting on OLE as our current DAN suggested)...but I just cant shake the feeling its partly diet related as well...even though we have seen some really great gains on the GFCFSF (almost soy free), (egg peanut and mustard free) as well as no artifical anything...and no preservatives... THanks again!
