Valtrex Side Effects - Help

Hi Group,

We started our 41 pound 3.5 year old boy on Valtrex on Monday (500 mg

full dose). We did half the dose Monday/Tuesday and he seemed fine so

we gave him the full dose Wed/Thurs and tonight. I know there is a

healing regression and I have done tons of research but it is still

scary have your child go back to old ways. He is tippy toe walking,

screaming, has no appepetite, hitting himself in the head when he is

mad, aggressive and just not happy at all. His eyes are so dark and

he just looks horrible. We also have him on 200 mg of diflucan a day.

He has been on diflucan before and has been fine on it so I don't

think it is from that. His yeast has only ever been a +1 so I don't

think he has a major yeast problem.

What side effects have you seen? How long did it last (I read it can

last up to 50 days - what is your experience)? Is there something I

can give him to help him feel better? Is is not that verbal yet so he

can't really tell me if he is feeling unwell. He did tell my husband

his head and tummy hurt but I don't know if he really knows what he

is saying. He also have a very sensitive liver - do you think this

dosage is too much?

Please share any information with me - I am desperate and also kind

of scared.
