Guest guest
Hi everyone, My sister has posed a question to me that I'm having trouble answering, so I'm hoping y'all will be able to help. She has had several friends who have given birth to children with special needs, one (in addition to myself) with Down syndrome. Even though she truly understands the blessing we have all received, she finds that she is always at a loss as to what to say to the new parents, who are often dealing with the shock of news that their child is, well, not what was hoped for or expected. Everything she comes up with sounds either trite or insincere, even though it is not meant to be such. ly, I am not really sure what anyone could have said to me, especially since the comments I did get were so hurtful, so I am unable to give her a good answer. So, the question is: What should I say?
