Tolleson forwarded your email on to me as I serve as the communication

director for the NDSC. I am also the First Vice President and a member of

the board of directors and dad to a 28 year old son with Down syndrome.

Your idea is quite timely. In fact, we are in the final stages of launching

just such an awareness program. You can see 3 sample TV spots for the

campaign by going to NDSCCenter.org and then clicking on the We're More

Alike Than Different icon at the right of the screen.

That will take you to a page we have created for a matching campaign that is

now in progress. If you scroll down a bit, you will find a link in the text

that will take you to the three spots.

As you do all of that, please read about the matching campaign. A very

generous family has challenged us with a one for one $250,000 grant to fund

the campaign. We have raised just over a quarter of that amount.

The reason I mention the challenge is the fact that every donation is

doubled. So $1.00 equals $2.00 in budget. If we raise the entire $250,000 we

will have $500,000 to fund the awareness campaign. You may find that an

attractive option for the money you have put aside.
