Guest guest
Elissa,You are on the IMP map. Good luck in your new practice! SetoSouth Pasadena, CAHi , Another request to be added to the IMPMap - Elissa -Speach, M.D.Caritas Family Medicine1501 East Ave. Ste. 105Rochester, NY 14610email: elissaspeachoneboxwebsite: www.caritasfamilymed.com I opened about a month and a half ago, and am actually occupying Gordon's old office space which I share with Lee. My practice set-up is similar to 's - I bought Clemensen's "package deal" for software setup and training, so I'm using AC, ApptQst, onebox, UpDox, etc.(Probably the single best business decision I made for start-up was to hire ). My website espouses the IMP principles of access, efficiency, and pt. centered collaborative care ( and I hope i do too! ). I hope this is enough to qualify me as an IMP. Things are a little slow but picking up, and I could certainly use the publicity of the IMPMap. I just joined this listserv a couple of weeks ago and I know I met several of you at IMP camp this summer; I love hearing about the diversity of the practices. Thanks, , for adding me in - Elissa

Guest guest
,You are on the map, but you are in the same situation I am in, which is you are hidden behind another marker because your locations are so close together. In your case, you are behind Elissa's marker. That is why some people have blue arrows (like me), to make them a little easier to see in an IMP-dense neighborhood. Try clicking on your name on the left side of the IMP Map, and you'll see a pop-up appear on the map with your information. Then use the "+" and "-" zoom controls on the left side of the map to zoom down to your location. You should be able to see your blue arrow emerge. I'm hoping to open a solo IMP in about a year, and would love to go to camp first - to start on the right foot. I've not officially joined the IMP since I do not have a practice yet (I'm finishing up residency still). Thanks! Guest guest
holly on impcenter.org if you look under knowledge base you get to the thing called the WIKI which talks about issues like working alone taking insurance making a business plan etc:) Really good resourceJEan Thanks, I'll keep an eye out. I'm in Ann Arbor, MI. Mostly big corporations around here; access seems to be a consistent problem. Thinking a solo-solo IMP will fill a void. Still trying to think through the question of taking insurance - hoping not to eventually, but might have to start by accepting some and then back off gradually. Would certainly be interested in anyone's thoughts on the subject. Oh, and I won't mind flying to Seattle get to IMP camp! Thanks again! Guest guest
Holly, I looked into family medicine in Ann Arbor a few years ago and it seemed most docs were either affiliated with the big hospital or the university. Overall the quality of care seemed better than average (for the US) to me. There is always room for an accessible, personable quality primary care doc. One possible need I saw there were some senior apartment villages that might really benefit from house calls (if that sounds interesting). Certainly a pretty educated city and probably some folks who would be willing to pay for decent primary care. Hope to see you at camp! It is great that you are thinking/planning now.
