Guest guest
It was also mentioned by a speaker at DAN that supplementing with zinc can make big improvements in both appetite and texture sensitivities. 1 mg/lb of body weight + 20 was in my notes from her presentation. Zinc picolinate was her recommended form.

Guest guest
Carintor (the Rx form) comes in 330mg tabs - we give 1 in the morning and one at night for my little one (32lbs). This has helped him with tone and also gain weight and keep it on. Quoting : > Can you give me and idea for dosage on the carnitine? > Thanks, > > Dana Read wrote: > Re. Guest guest
My son is 44 lbs. I give him 250mg/2x per day. I have a tough time getting stuff in him and really can't do a 3x/day schedule. I'm thinking of adding coq10 as well. Any experience with that supp? Guest guest
Thank you laureen for the info. Dana, my DAN doctor recommends the zinc picolinate form.I have read books by the DAN doctors and it seems they all recommend the picolinte form.I think it has to do with absorption and utilization.Laureen Forman wrote: Carintor (the Rx form) comes in 330mg tabs - we give 1 in the morning and one at night for my little one (32lbs). I never did get to say hello or introduce myself to Stan. Were you in McCarthy's presentation? Guest guest
We have been using liquid zinc supplements (2x the RDA) and zinc monomethione for about 10 months. I'm completely bummed b/c we just had a blood panel done again and his zinc levels are still off the charts low and copper very elevated. It seems like he's having absorption issues. I've started giving the liquid zinc first thing in the a.m. about 30 minutes before breakfast and again at night just before bed. Anyone have others suggestions for addressing the absorption problem?? We have a call scheduled with his DAN doc on Wednesday... > > > > > > > > > > It was also mentioned by a speaker at DAN that > > supplementing with > > > > zinc > > > > > can make big improvements in both appetite and texture > > > sensitivities. > > > > > > > > > > 1 mg/lb of body weight + 20 was in my notes from her > > presentation. > > > > > > > > > > Zinc picolinate was her recommended form. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------- > > ---------- > > > > > > > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > > > Checked by AVG. > > > Version: 7.5.519 / Virus Database: 269.22.5/1357 - Release > Date: > > 4/3/2008 10:48 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------- > ---------- > > > > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > > Checked by AVG. > > Version: 7.5.519 / Virus Database: 269.22.5/1357 - Release Date: > 4/3/2008 10:48 AM > > > > > > > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.519 / Virus Database: 269.22.5/1357 - Release Date: 4/3/2008 10:48 AM >
Guest guest
I would put in a call to the Pfeiffer Treatment Center and ask for a phone consult with Dr. telling them that you are considering becoming a patient at one of their outreach clinics...since the zinc copper imbalance is their SPECIALTY they could probably tell you why your protocol is failing, and you may decide that they are where you need to go next - and not the DAN route, straight fwd, after all. > > > > > > > > > > > > It was also mentioned by a speaker at DAN that > > > supplementing with > > > > > zinc > > > > > > can make big improvements in both appetite and texture > > > > sensitivities. > > > > > > > > > > > > 1 mg/lb of body weight + 20 was in my notes from her > > > presentation. > > > > > > > > > > > > Zinc picolinate was her recommended form. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------- > > > ---------- > > > > > > > > > > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > > > > Checked by AVG. > > > > Version: 7.5.519 / Virus Database: 269.22.5/1357 - Release > > Date: > > > 4/3/2008 10:48 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------- > > ---------- > > > > > > > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > > > Checked by AVG. > > > Version: 7.5.519 / Virus Database: 269.22.5/1357 - Release > Date: > > 4/3/2008 10:48 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------ -- > ---------- > > > > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > > Checked by AVG. > > Version: 7.5.519 / Virus Database: 269.22.5/1357 - Release Date: > 4/3/2008 10:48 AM > > >
