I understand your explanation of keeping the

probiotic away from the antifungal – but in my case – I have to

give 8 capsules of Nystatin to my 3 year old in one day (2 capsules at each

dose). So let’s say he’s awake 12 hours a day – it is

impossible to give the probiotic (ProBio Defense which has Sac B. in it) 3-4

hours away from the Nystatin. It just is. I do all I can to give him the 8

pills in addition to a probiotic in the AM & just before bed - not to

mention all the other supplements & enzymes inbetween morning and bedtime.

It is impossible to keep everything separate. I’m struggling with this

dilemma here. Any suggestions are welcome !

FYI: from Kirkmans site; Do not take the S. boulardii

supplementation

at the same time as any prescription antifungals like Nystatin,

Diflucan, Sporonox, etc. Antifungals are recognized to kill S.

boulardii and thus should be taken at a different time of the day

(separated by 2 to 3 hours) as is recommended by the physician.

I would do nystatin in the morning, and lunch and probotics AFTER dinner and just before bed, they will settle into the gut better that way as well
