Guest guest
Hi Jackie He thinks my liver is decompensated and wants a second opinion. He also wants me on a liver transplant list because he is also afraid I may go into liver failure from Tx. Those are his exact words. He said in his experience anyone who has Cirrhosis and Acities has a decompensated liver. When I asked about a liver biopsy he said to let Mayo do it. Well at least my liver functions are not normal. Last set of blood work was SGPT 118 and SGOT 174. It has dropped from when I was first diagnosed 12/11/07. Back then it was 102/218. I was hoping it was dropping due to some MAJOR diet changes. " Hi , Why is your doc 'refusing' you treatment? You have cirrhosis and you must stop this virus OR you will end up with ESLD and a liver transplant if you can find a donor. Am I misunderstanding what you said? There is NO reason that your doc should be refusing you treatment, especially when you have so much damage... Many times as the damage continues, the viral load actually drops and your liver functions drop into the normal level too and that is NOT a good thing.. Guest guest
This is the exact place I am at except my disability insurance THE HARTFORD GROUP used it against me. Sure my liver is bad but my viral load was dropping so I was a-ok. This also cost me my insurance, havent been to a doc in over a year and things are fixin to get real bad. as far as I am concerned my insurance and my government murdered me. Sorry to be so upset but I am. I do wish you much better luck though, It sounds like you do have a good choice of doctors. Good luck Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage. Guest guest
Hi Butch hon, Well, I'd call the Insurance Commissioners office... every state has one and I'd go there for further help.. this is not right! I have had issues in the past with my insurance companies suddenly denying me meds, and their refusal to approve my husbands joint replacement surgery and once I contacted the commis office, everything was approved immediately! I'd truely call them and then make an appt with an attorney who specializes ONLY in disability insurance cases. That's your best hope butch! Let me know how it turns out! hugs jax Butch Holland wrote: This is the exact place I am at except my disability insurance THE HARTFORD GROUP used it against me. Guest guest
Hey, Butch! I agree 100% with Jackie. In most states, if not all, it is illegal for an insurance company to drop you like that. I would also suggest getting a free consultation with an attorney who specializes in medical stuff. After exhausting that avenue, if it comes to a legal dead end, you can always contact Roche or Sherring Plough (I believe) directly, as they've helped a lot of people with free tx meds. But I'd be on that damned phone Monday first thing raising as big a stink as you can. And don't forget about your Representatives, Congressmen and local politicos. Some of them would go way out of their way to help. Good luck and let us know how all goes Monday! Oh, I'm on Social Security Disability which helps alot, especially when you get Medicare at any age! > > This is the exact place I am at except my disability insurance THE HARTFORD GROUP used it against me. Guest guest
Hey you guys and Gals Thanks for all the input but already done it. They cancled me effective 12-21-06 my brothers birthday that was murdered in Houston 15 years ago. I got the letter the day after christmass and 2 days before my birthday. What better time to make sure a person has no money to fight. The timeing was right when my amonia levels had been rising and so many other stressfull things going on the news dropped me like a rock. I still have not rocovered from it and never will. I did fight though, I sent the insurance board a letter/complaint. It was even forwarded from Senator Kay Hutchenson's office requesting them to look into it. It did no good, I am/was from Texas and the Hartford insurance is in Maitland Florida. Also I have all Hartfords paperwork on me and on paper they made themselves look ok unless some was to dig deep. Knowing what I told Hartford and what Doctors told me that was convenently left out of there records it is blaintly obvious how they played the doctors and in turn me. Proving it is a diferent story.I do have a couple cards left to play. I tried getting an attorney but in small town in texas and my whole life was crumbling in front of me no luck. I am now in Georgia and waiting for some attorneys to call back to help with social security, I am hopeing they have a way around the Arisa law so I can sue insurance company. The arisa law, from what little I understand was made up by the insurance company's stateing that you can only sue for amout they would have owed you. No attorneys fee's or any other losses. This makes it impossible to sue unless you have the money upfront to pay attorney's. Any of us that have been on disability knows there is no extra money. I was also in a major illeagal chemical dump in Amoco oil refinery in Texas city Texas in the early 80's. I opporated a buldozer loading up the chemical layden dirt that they were still putting chemicals in. I loaded into dump trucks and they took it to the Texas city Dyke and dumped it to fill holes in road and extend washed away ereas. This is when my bone problems started. The Texas City Dyke is a 9 mile long extension out in the bay that helps wave action for shipping. It also has a beach and is a MAJOR place for familys to go fish, swim, picnick ect. I FINALLY found a lawyer that loves these kinds of cases and with what I know if I go public they will have to spend Billions fixing dyke. I am not a sueing kind of guy, this is why I havent bothered with it but I am out of options and there are the kids who swim there I should have thaught about a LONG time ago. If anyone has any input on this or the Arisa law I could use all the help I can get. I am way out of my league on this one. I am used to making money the old fashioned way...earn it. I guess this turned out kinda long, It's just not often my brain works with much clarity. It's kinda like going from a new computor with high speed to an old 386 or Win 95 with dial up. The info is there but real slow getting it out. I am guessing this is what ya'll call "BRAIN FOG". I dunno Thanks again to everyone and anymore ideas are more than welcome, I am most deffiantly running out of time here. Thanks a bunch for all of your help. Guest guest
Butch, What I would advise at this point is to get yourself one of your friends to help you compose a letter that is very specific and describe in chronological order everything you have said and done so far and send it all to Bill OReilly at Fox news, he is truely a champion when it comes to investigating cases like this where someone is sick and the insurance companies have screwed them over,,, honestly, get someone to help you so that your letter is very cohesive and makes sense with no loop holes, make copies of every letter you've written and everything you've received and get ahold of him,, I've seen him go after other big companies before and he gets things done,,, Butch Holland wrote: Hey you guys and Gals Thanks for all the input but already done it.
