Andy and Jon,

This is the first time I have noticed this. I would have noticed, I am

always sniffing my kids, like a mother cat or something. This is weird.

Just wondered if it might have something to do with the current round we are

on. Maybe just bad hair gel?

Carol,

Phenyl-pyruvic acid has a musty, mousey smell, I have noticed it on our

children also, it is what lead the Dr to investigate the mental retardation

two siblings and he later identified it as PKU, nowdays children are

screened for it at birth but I rather suspect that it is present owing to

metabolic deficiencies induced by another agent let's say Mercury for

example. I'm no expert these are just my thoughts, by the way, the other

child that I can smell it on is not autistic but does have a kidney problem,

it is some time now since I've noticed this though.

Don't panic I expect there are other explanations.

Hi,

My son also has a musty smelling head, the only way I can

decribe it is like a stinky wash rag that has sat on the sink over

night. It has gotten worse since chelation. I find this interesting ,

I have a older son that was also damaged when he was young by

immunizations. He also had that same odor. I hope it does get better

as he is detoxes, I guess that will be a good indication to me that

my sons detox is working. Leah

My son didn't have a musty hair smell, but four years ago when he was

on dairy, he would have bad head sweats when he slept. During a few

nights he had a strong ammonia smell to the sweat on his head. Hair

had been washed earlier that evening, he wasn't in diapers, never wet

the bed, but ammonia in the sweat on his head. Every time I told the

doctors about it, I would get that look...

My autistic son doesn't have that smell, but I've noticed it on my NT 4 year

old for a while now. Every morning his hair smells musty even though his

hair was washed the night before and sheets/pillows and mattress are not

musty or smelly. I've been wondering what it could be from too.

Prior to chelation, my daughters hair was extrememly musty smelling -

really gagging bad.(see prior posts). As we continue to chelate, and

she continues to make gains, the smell is much less noticeable.
