Guest guest
C. diff is gram-positive, anaerobic, spore-forming bacillus that is responsible for the development of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and colitis. Colitis is an infection in the lining in the colon. I have never had it but have taken care of patients with this. Some patients are given a feeding tube to help the digestive system recuperorate form the infection. By taking nourishment in thru the feeding tube, the body allows the bowel to rest and heal. The formulas that are used are easuily digestable. Your sister is probably on Flagyl or Vancomycin to treat the C. diff. mommy to 10 ADHD inatttentive and Wolfgang Ian DS, AVSD repaired, hypothyroidism and onrey boy 7yr Clostridum Difficile Colitis......Has anyone ever had this? Guest guest
Yep, it's pretty contagious too. so make sure you wash your hands with SOAP AND WATER for a long time after visits...like a 30 second hand washing...alcohol hand rubs do not kill it. Make sure they are cleaning her up regularly and using a really good incontinent moisture barrier so her butt doesn't get raw...that's the next complication which can then get infected...and on and on... , Mom to 14, DS, Southern CaliforniaTo succeed in life, you need three things:a wishbone, a backbone and a funny bone.~ Reba McIntyre Diagnosis Down Syndrome: A Site of Hope for New Parents or Parents with a Prenatal Diagnosishttp://www.leeworks.net/DDS/What to Say to Parents of a Child with a Diagnosishttp://www.leeworks.net/DDS/speech.html [DownSyndromeInfoExchange] Clostridum Difficile Colitis Clostridum Difficile Colitis......Has anyone ever had this?
