Guest guest
AYE AYE Ms JAX I am still here ! I read the posts, just don't reply often. Went through treatment via the Drug Trial with Vertex - they pulled me from treatment (I had no choice - its a drug study) at 24 weeks.. I had been taking Riba, Pegasys and Vertex. It was a blinded study so I didnt know if I had vertex or not, turns out I had vertex the frist 12 weeks, a placebo the second twelve weeks. Anyway as of right now , I am still 3 months SVR - clear! This was my second treatment as I had relapsed from the first 48 week " normal " treatment, which is why I qualified for this program. So God-willing I will stay clear, either way, my small amount of fibrosis went away the first time, meaning I have a clean biopsy result, which, I feel, gives me more hope than the all clear. Ya know? Because my liver is healthy it gives me added time. So thats my story and Im sticking to it. LOL I wish everyone on this group hope and wellness, you are all troopers and we are all in this together and are lucky to have each other. Guest guest
Hi all, I'm still here, just reading. I have never done tx so I am learning about the " option " . :-) I am staying with my glutathione/taurine protacol + liver/thymus extract and EUROCEL and the cryoglobulins are much improved at least as far as the rash goes, kidneys are stable at stage 3, fighting high Blood Pressure. My liver enzymes are low normal so I feel good about that, I will do a viral count next month and probably ask for a feta protien. Its been 30 years now, have had bad fibro for years. That's me, hope everyone is hanging in and making progress. I have a very dear friend who cannot treat with INF/Riba and she is having trouble with the cryo's.. perhaps your protocol might be helpful for her so thats why Im asking. Guest guest
Hey Ann Dahlin,, So good to hear from you! I was wondering where you were and how things were going for you! Oh I soooo hope you remain SVR... Did you notice any different side effects from the trial meds that were different from the tx you did without the vertex? Yes, sometimes even tho we might not reach SVR, just doing tx can improve the histology of our livers.. Its so hard sometimes to know what to do because some do well, and some dont. I guess thats why IM so adamant about making sure that everyone is educated and understand the risks vs benefits of standard tx so they can make a REAL EDUCATED decision... Many docs push everyone onto tx even tho some may end up worse because of the tx.. many will end up clear too, man I wish there were actually some thing that was really sure about this virus and treatment,, but sadly there just isnt.. Well check in from time to time,, and certainly let us know what happens when you reach the 6 month PCR.. We'll all be here hoping for the BEST! hugs jax Ann wrote: AYE AYE Ms JAX I am still here ! Guest guest
Hi, Its been almost a year since I finished treatment. I was still undetectable six months after, so I reached a sustained response. It took me several months to get back to normal. Then I had some dental work done. I had a gum infection and after they cleaned that out I got sick with pneumonia. I guess some bacteria most have gone systemic from that. It seemed that after treatment my immune system was shot. Finally since this fall I have been feeling great. I am so glad that I did the treatment. I really didn't have too many sides until the last couple months when my hemoglobin dropped to around 10. They wouldn't give me Procrit so I had to tough it out. Guest guest
WHOOO HOOO Lee!!!!! You know,, I THINK (dangerous I know, lol) that after pounding your body with Interferon which boosts your immune system, then when you stop the INF, it probably does some kind of rebound thing where your immune system drops down pretty low,, then it bounces back... Im glad you are doing well,, you will still worry each and every time you have another PCR... Its been 5 years for me and I know that my next PCR is coming up and Im very worried as well.. I think if we didnt worry, we'd be crazy! lol,, When do you go for your year Pcr? Let us know how that goes... and Ill be posting my results here when I get them,,, hugs, jax Lee wrote: Hi, Its been almost a year since I finished treatment. Guest guest
I still read most of the posts. Update on me, I did the TX for 4 months, my viral load slowly went down to 23 then started going back up so the doc took me off the stuff. I'm genotype 1a so I knew there was only a 40% chance.
