Guest guest
You definitely wrote it down wrong on the Valtrex! 5 ml = 1tsp. 250 mls= *a lot* of teaspoons! :)cherylMy son is currently on day 25 of Valtrex (750 mg - 250mg, 3x a day) and day 83 of nizoral (50mg 1x a day) and I was going to try to get these Rxs compounded in liquid form but I'm a little confused on the conversion. I called Park Pharmacy but I guess I wasn't clear on what she said...I can't even read my own notes! For Valtrex I wrote 250 mls 3x a day - does this sound right? He also said we've been on nizoral long enough and suggested Diflucan. Our DAN told me to tell him exactly what I want in what form and how much and how often. What I want is to try Diflucan (40 mls, 1 ml a day) (does that sound right? I think I understood the pharmacist on that one) and Valtrex (??? dosing ???) Can anybody help me with this? Also, are you all paying out of pocket for compounded Rxs, or is this generally covered by insurance? Thanks for your help. ~Claudine

Guest guest
When we had ours compounded, we paid our normal co-pay and the compounding fee (which was $20-25 depending on the drug).CherylWe have to pay out-of-pocket.>> Also, are you all paying out of pocket for compounded Rxs, or is this > generally covered by insurance?> > Thanks for your help. ~Claudine>

Guest guest
The liquid valtrex and diflucan I have gotten from Parks Pharmacy I had to pay out of pocket. I do think it depends on the insurance though. About dosage this is what my dan proscribed for my 40 Lb. son. Valtrex-1 ml 3 times a day ( each ml is 250MG). The Diflucan-2 ml once daily (each ml is 40 MG) Hope that helps. If you ever have any trouble with understanding at that pharmacy ask for he is the manager and he is great and will help. > > My son is currently on day 25 of Valtrex (750 mg - 250mg, 3x a day) > and day 83 of nizoral (50mg 1x a day) and I was going to try to get > these Rxs compounded in liquid form but I'm a little confused on the > conversion. Guest guest
We found a great compounding pharmacy that accepts insurance. www.LakeRx.com I found them to be very helpful. They are located in Forsyth, GA > > > > > > Also, are you all paying out of pocket for compounded Rxs, or is > > this > > > generally covered by insurance? > > > > > > Thanks for your help. ~Claudine > > > > > > > > > >
